I read somewhere (I can't remember where) that in the Generation I Games, if you hold B just as the pokéball explodes, and then repeatedly press Left & Right, you have increased chances of cathing the pokémon. Personally, I don't believe this, but I wasn't sure, so I thought I'd ask you guys what you thought of it.

I still hold Right+A when the ball hits. It's not true, but it just is something people do for some reason, like how people move the controller when they jump in older Mario games.

I tend to have the habit of pressing and holding the Down+A+B buttons at the same time when I throw a ball and ball shakes...not sure where I heard that, but it rarely works.

This is in the wrong section but anyways, I always seem to hold Up and B. I know that these things do nothing, but it's like superstitions or lucky socks.

Well normally in SSB Melee I tend to move the paddle in the direction I punch or kick, but it's just habit.(I usually tend to talk to myself for no reason at all too!)

Lots of people do these supposed "tricks", but none of them work. The whole "button pushing when trying to catch a Pokemon" thing makes absolutely no difference.

some people just keep shaking thier ds till the pokemons not confused anymore eventully thier ds breaks.

they also just tirn off thier ds so they dont even have to anything at all

I tend to have a habit of rapidly pressing the A button when the ball is thrown. I'm not sure if it works, but from that I have cought a pokemon in a Premiere Ball.

I note as that don't work

I still press and hold B+Down to feel like I'm having a better chance at catching a pokemon

(lol, on D/P/Pt, I circle the pokeball on the touch screen to have a better chance)

Yea I pressed B in rhythm with the ball shaking, and in my ten-year-old mind, it worked, but I know it doesn't.
