I started this thread out of curiosity. I also started it because I went to PAWS (Philippine Animal Welfare Society), which takes care of stray cats/dogs until a caring person takes them home.

I prefer dogs because I find them easier to get along with. They're also more loyal in my opinion.

So, what's your preference?

To the mods: feel free to close this thread if you think this should be in a blog (or for whatever reason).

depends on your situation
cats are amazing for apartments and people who work a lot

dogs are great for a family or if you have a decent sized yard you can leave them in

my personal preference is a small medium sized dog (or a big small dog?)

but I like cats a lot too

they're both cute. =)

Dogs are playful, loyal, man's best friend!
Cats are lazy but lovable. and they seem to be more vicious than dogs though. =(
 
I'm more of a cat person, despite how annoying my little furry beast is being. She keeps headbutting my book while I'm trying to study and meowing to get my attention, then running away when I pay attention to her. I love her though :D

Bleh, I hate dogs. Horrible things. People go on about them being "loyal", "kind" and whatever shit, yeah their loyal to their owners but not people they pass on the street. If I had one pound for everytime a dog had attacked or tried to attack me I'd be extremely rich.

Maybe I just have a bias opinion of dogs because since I've been four, I've been constantly barked and snapped at, or because my Boyfriends Mum's dog shits everywhere, barks at everything/one and tries to bite my feet all the time.

And no don't reply to me with some sob-story about how your dog is the most pretty little kind hearted piece of fuck because I don't care. Sure, it's nice to you, but everyone else it is nervous around and distrustful of, and people like me happen to be the ones who get attacked by your dog.

And yes, I like cats. I like cats a lot, their calm, and only actually attack people if there is a problem. They look pretty, whereas dogs look like the arse end of a horse, only with a face.
They're not all Dependant and whiny when their owners aren't home, and trust me, every dog is. The second their main owner walks out the door dogs whimper and whimper and don't shut up until they come back.
Cats just do their own thing, if their owners away, they just sleep, or find something to fiddle with that wont knock something down.

TL;DR: I hate dogs, cats are better.
