A pair of events are launching in Pokémon Masters EX today as part of the game's annual celebration of Japan's Golden Week holiday period. Last year's Special Event: Rolling in Gold makes its return alongside the game's latest High Score Event, Ice and Dragon Conqueror, together with a one-time-only 5★-Select Fair Exclusive Scout ×11.

Golden Week is the name given in Japan to the period from April 29th to May 5th, where four different public holidays, Shōwa Day (昭和の日, Shōwa no Hi), Constitution Memorial Day (憲法記念日, Kenpō Kinenbi), Greenery Day (みどりの日, Midori no Hi), and Children's Day (子供の日, Kodomo no Hi), occur in rapid succession.

Special Event: Rolling in Gold
In this event running through to May 17th, at 10:59pm (PDT), players will unlock a new exclusive Sync Pair, Teddy (Hiker) & Rellor, as well as a special event title, by completing two story areas that are unlocked as a result of simple event missions requiring players to complete a Daily Battle.

Teddy (Hiker) & Rellor are a Bug-type 3★ Support Role Sync Pair, who can be raised up to 5★ through items acquired through this event. Their Mountains Are Great Status move allows them to raise the Attack and Sp. Atk of all allied sync pairs by two stat ranks. After buffing the party, they can continue to support through the combination of their Mud-Slap attack reducing opponents accuracy by one stat rank for a mere one move gauge, while keeping the move gauge going with their Propelling Strike 9 charging the move gauge by one whenever its attack move is successful.

Players should also note the following when playing this event:
  • To participate, players must have completed Main Story Chapter 1: The More the Merrier (Normal) in single-player.
  • Area info completion data will not be carried over the next time this event returns.
  • The sync pairs that appear as opponents in battle have different capabilities than those players can actually obtain.
  • When the exchange period ends, any remaining Nuggets will be converted into Coins at a rate of 1,000 Coins per Nugget, and sent to player's Present Boxes.
High Score Event: Ice and Dragon Conqueror

Ice and Dragon Conqueror is the latest High Score Event in Pokémon Masters EX, in which Trainers can attempt to score the highest amount possible within a set of five battles. Ice and Dragon Conqueror once again will see players facing off against trainers from two different types, with this event's gauntlet including Ghetsis, Candice, Raihan, Clair, and Zinnia. By completing battles in this event and achieving a higher total score, players will be able to earn a variety of rewards, including 5★ Power-Ups, Certificates of Excellence, Move Candy and Roll Cake Coins, and Skill Feathers.

Players can also obtain Gems ×100, Ice Tome, Vol. 1 ×60, Ice Codex, Vol. 1 ×60, Dragon Tome, Vol. 1 ×60, and Dragon Codex, Vol. 1 ×60 as first-time rewards for completing each battle.

Each High Score Event comes with a set of Event Rules that apply to all battles, and serve as a set of conditions to evaluate how players have completed each battle. The ratings on each of these rules determine the player's base score for each battle. The rules for Ice and Dragon Conqueror are as follows:
  • Time Trial - Players will obtain a higher score depending on how fast they can complete each battle.
  • More attacks - Players will obtain a higher score the more total times all allied sync pairs land attacks.
  • More stat decreases - Players will obtain a higher score depending on the total percentage of all allied sync pairs' HP remaining when a battle is completed.
Each of these above rules has a maximum score of 3,000, for a total of 9,000 possible score from Event Rules. In addition to these Event Rules, players will also be able to boost their base score by satisfying additional Challenge Rules. The two Challenge rules for the Ice and Dragon Conqueror event are as follows:
  • Paralysis: 1 or more times - Players will receive a bonus 1,000 to their base score by inflicting Paralysis on an opponent 1 or more times.
  • Passionate Spirit or Seasonal Outfit - Players will receive a bonus 1,000 to their base score by forming a team with 1 or more characters with the Passionate Spirit or Seasonal Outfit Theme Skills.
On top of these bonuses, players will receive the following multipliers to their base Score depending on their number of Ice- and Dragon-type sync pairs in their party:
  • 0 Pairs: ×0 Score
  • 1 Pair: ×1 Score
  • 2 Pairs: ×2 Score
  • 3 Pairs: ×3 Score
With these multipliers, players must include at least one Ice- or Dragon-type sync pair in their team to receive a score for each battle. As each Sync Pair will only be able to join a single battle in the set of five, players will need to have teamed up with a wide variety of Ice- and Dragon-type Sync Pairs if they want to ensure the highest score possible.

Four of the five battles in this particular High Score Event also have additional special rules:
  • Challenge Ghetsis: Five stats of allied strike sync pairs significantly reduced - Allied strike sync pairs' Attack, Defense, Sp. Atk, Sp. Def, and Speed are lowered by 80%
  • Challenge Candice: Opponent max sync move countdown -3 - The total number of moves opponents need to use before they can unleash a sync move is reduced by 3
  • Challenge Raihan: No rules - No special rules
  • Challenge Clair: Ally special attack damage significant reduced - Reduces the damage allies deal with special attack moves by 80%.
  • Challenge Diantha: Five stats of allied tech sync pairs significantly reduced - Allied tech sync pairs' Attack, Defense, Sp. Atk, Sp. Def, and Speed are lowered by 80%
A ranking feature is also available to this event, allowing players to see how well they've done against other trainers. Players whose Best Score is within the top 10,000 spots at the end of the event will be awarded Master Rank, receiving a special Medal as a general mission reward. Final Ranking Results will only be announced after the event has concluded, from May 13th, at 11:00pm (PDT), and should remain available for one week until May 20th, at 10:59pm (PDT).

  • It may take some time for rankings to be updated, meaning the in-game rankings may not reflect the most recent results.
  • Battles finished after the event period ends may not be reflected in the rankings.
5★-Select Fair Exclusive Scout ×11

In this one-time-only 5★-Select Type Scout running through to May 13th, at 10:59pm (PDT), players can spend 3,000 paid gems to receive an ×11 Scout, as well as an additional bonus selection of a 5★ Sync Pair from a pool which includes a wide variety of Fair-Exclusive Sync Pairs.
