Checked around, didn't see any thread like this.

Whenever I check a Pokemon's nature, I tend to see if they have one of my favored natures, which are ... Adamant, Gentle, Calm, and especially Sassy. I don't even really care if it's not suitable for competitive battle.

Anyone else do the same thing, and if so, what's your favorite?

D: It's just so much fun.

well, the natures for me depend on what I want the pokemon to be. Physical tanks tend to be brave, while special tanks tend to Quiet. Physical Sweepers tend to be Adamant while Special sweepers tend to be modest

Depends on the Pokemon in question and what role I want it to play in my teams, although I usually find the following natures to be the most useful for me:

-Calm-Special walls
-Bold-Physical walls
-Timid/Modest-Special sweepers
-Jolly/Adamant-Physical sweepers

I never really look at natures unless I feel like entering contests. Which is somewhat rare.

Sounds like a bunch of utilitarian people in this thread.

(not that that's bad)

I often look for a certain ability, but not nature often, but I do try to get Brave, Adament, Impish, and Hasty

Yeah... Sorry to say it, but as much as I like the idea of finding natures that fit the Pokemon that I'm imagining... The 10% stat boost to something I may need is too much to give up. n.n;;

So... That'd make me utilitarian, too. XD;

i like the nature hardy
in japanese its

ganbateru meaning trying it's best it's so awesome

and timid always into shy cute pokemon

of course there are certain preferred natures.
for example, I need my Ambipom to be jolly, so it outruns other pokemon and does significant damage with fake out.
or, i could have gone adamant to see if i could almsot KO other pokemon.

natures are very helpful

I'm not a competitve battler, so I dun give a flying fig about what they do. I think theyre cute and give my pokemon a little bit more personality. Except some of them do make me lol. My Timid Dialga, for instance X3

XD I have a Gentle Dialga and a Docile Palkia.
Epic, amirite?

Anyway, for preferred natures, I always go for the ones best for competitive battling. Sorryyy.

Not really a competitive battler myself (I'm too fond of my favourites to get into all of that tier business) but I did once specifically breed a team of my favourites for in-game use, going into IVs, EVs and the like. Mawile and Miltank, my two star players, both had Impish natures and this had led me to become rather attached to the Impish nature in general, whether it's favourable or not...

I got lucky. my natures for competative battling fight almost all of my pokemon as I pictured them. Granted, Houndoom being modest wasn't what I aimed for, but I got over it. The rest are great.

I make teams based on my original characters and pokemon characters (usually the pokemon that they own), so not only will I breed for specific natures, but the characteristic (strong willed, alert to sounds, etc.) has to match. Sometimes it will end up having the most unfavorable stats ever. I don't care.

Looks like I'm not the only one who makes teams for my RP characters~ I never paid much attention to those personality snippets.

timid modest for special sweepers
adamant jolly physical sweepers
bold for defenseive supporters and porygon2 in ou

Definitely not. n.n I actually like the idea a lot. I just kinda do it backward... Like, I figure out what nature I want in order to maximize the Pokemon's potential, then imagine what my Pokemon would be like with that nature. XD

Not to mention, stuff like that is something I would do while playing through the main games. n.n I tend to use completely different teams each time I play one of the games, (And then keep them archived in a box I name "Parties" in each new game) then switch over to my big team after I finish the game. *Nods some*

...
After three different in-game parties, and then a bunch of level 100s I've raised, I'm gonna need a second Parties box soon. XD;;
