I can't be alone in the desire to revisit Cerulean Cave.

Mewtwo?

Deoxys? (hey, you never know)

Latios/Latias?

Perhaps one of the above legendaries could be in Cerulean Cave and the Team Rocket storyline can be extended into Kanto (post 16 badges) rather than having a single grunt be the only Kanto Team Rocket encounter.

The Cerulean Cave was closed in the orginal GS, And I assume it will stay that way in HGSS.

I'm well aware it was closed in GSC however Nintendo is going to have to bring some new features to the table to HGSS. I'd much rather have an extended Team Rocket storyline as well as a decent place for a currently unobtainable 4th gen legend than another damn Battle Frontier. While reopening Cerulean Cave is more than likely not going to happen, it very well could be a good place for Groudon/Kyogre as well, since they're supposed to be version legendaries as well.

I can definitely see room for both Mewtwo (since they're now very obviously lookng to make Gen. III unnecessary for a complete Pokédex) and an expanded TR plot in Cerulean Cave. Wouldn't gaining control over the ultimate genetically engineered Pokémon give TR an edge in coming back to power, and aren't the new TR leaders dumb enough to think they could actually pull it off? XD

That's what I'm hoping for, even if Mewtwo can't be caught in-game, it wouldn't be out of the question having TR leaders control it, and even battle against it, then it can flee to a nameless faraway island where an event would make him catchable

Mewtwo?

As has been said, if they want full independence from gem 3 then yes.

Deoxys? (hey, you never know)

Seeing as Kanto will be in HGSS and the sevii's are part of Kanto with Birth island in the sevii's there;s your deoxys

Latios/Latias?

Same as above but with navel rock? it will be unoccupied seeingg as Lugia and Ho-oh have other places to be.

It would be nice to re-visit the Cerulean Cave in HeartGold/SoulSilver, especially if Mewtwo is attainable.

I see it reappearing, but I don't see Mewtwo in it. I think we will see the tell tale signs of Mewtwo in it, but the actual Mewtwo is somewhere else. I personally think that TR captures him and he manages to escape and is threatening to destroy a town or whatever and the trainer is called in to stop him. Maybe you actually arrive in the Cerulean Cave basement just in time to see Team Rocket Kanto capture him.

I thought I told you to stop reading my mind.

Hopefully, this will go something like that. Mewtwo's no longer in Cerulean cave, although I think it may still be sealed up and treated like a myth (hey, things that happened a few years ago can become myths!). Later in the game, you run across Mewtwo about to murderalize the remnants of TR, and have to fight him to either defeat or capture him. I don't often like having legendaries shoved at me like that, but it would be a nice change from the "Player rescues Pokemon from evil team" plot that gets bandied about so often.

Now you are thinking about tacos.

I'm glad someone agrees with me. I do want it open just on the off chance that GF throws in battle scars where Mewtwo was. Kinda like what they did with Moltres in FRLG.

No need to speculate something which almost certainly WON'T RETURN.

Is there a reason for them to bring the Cerulean Cave back?

No. Especially that it collapsed, reopening it would cause a plothole.

It's as useless as speculating about Celadon Hotel.

Not sure about Mewtwo, but if we are going for Gen III independance Lati@s could possibly be in the new game Genius Sonority is developing, assuming it's anything like Colosseum or XD.

I'm thinking that if they don't bring it back for its original purpose, the Beserk Gene could have something to do with Mewtwo. It could be a key item that reacts to being brought where the original entrance for Cerulean Cave was, and open it up. Naturally, it'd be a tad smaller than it was originally, but there'd be Mewtwo. I dunno, I'm just spouting ideas here.

although they r moving away from the gba, i dont think we'll see that happen fully until gen. 5. I f u have fr or lg, u coulld just pal park it straight to dppt, then trade it from there

Same with Groudon, Kyogre, and Rayquaza, but they're appearing in game. Not to mention the three Regis in Platinum.

true but i still think that the mewtwo problem can be solved by just pal parking

Of course. But we think they're looking for other ways to take care of it.

You know, we were all thinking about the Gen. III legendaries for the new Genius Sonority game, but if you think about it, if there's any legendary that deserves to be the focus of its own game, it's freaking Mewtwo. So that puts Cerulean Cave and a Mewtwo subplot up in the air in my eyes.
