I drew this a while ago (Zel from Slayers) but only scanned it today. I like how it turned out.

Yeah, that does look nice. I've never seen Slayers but they look good to me! ^^; Maybe th shoulders could be a little wider and it seems to me like the elbows bend weird, but otherwise nice job on proportions. Good shading, too.

Same character, new drawing. Not CGed this time, since I didn't want to risk messing up in inking it.

Basic problems with the first picture. Proportions in general is the main concern. The body is too thing, arms are too. Pose is trying to be dramatic but lacks the effect. Although the character has good shading, nice colors, and I like how you drew your hands.
The second one is better because it's just a head shot, and you seem to be better at those anyway. Good expression, nice detail. I like the hair especially.
Keep up the work and watch out for proportions.

<3 Zelgadis. You have good taste. ^.^

Yeah, in the first pic, he looks like a little twig chimera. But I do love the second one. I always like pencil drawings better for some reason, anyway. His expression is great.
