Championshipping General Discussion

This shipping is focused on the concept of LancexAsh being together. It is titled as such because Lance is a member of the Elite 4 and in order to be apart of such a prestigious group, you must hold the title of Pokemon Master if my research was correct. Also, it is titled Championshipping because Ash is based off the character Red, who did become a Master...also since Ash is striving to become the Ultimate Champion.



Now, I used to think I was the only one who liked this ship but I have discovered several fans for it. However, fan art is very difficult to find for this ship these days. I'm sure it was much easier to find artwork several years ago but now it seems it has just about died.




Please feel free to post or contact me privately if you find anything.



But anyways, back to the thread...don't you agree that Lance and Ash would be great together?! The naysayers can mock all they want...I have seen much worse shippings out there, believe me.





So my first question is does anyone have great Championshipping fan fictions they would like to share?
 
While I would not say that they are great, here is a list of championshipping stories that I have written. You may search the theme sets or read the stand-alone stories. I myself prefer Championshipping as Lance x Red over Lance x Ash, but whatever floats your boat.

I do wish that you would finish a few because I really want to see how they end. I am firstly a Palletshipper but I also love Championshipping...just the thought of Ash needing to be rescued into Lance's big strong, arms is romantic :)

Thanks, I'm happy that I'm not the only one who ships this. I agree with you about it being unique and amazing, Oh I'm sure the interactions between them would be gold.
 
I feel the same way! I tend to like the heroic figures like Lance with Ash, seeing as he is always getting into trouble....and yes, it's always made double, so I figured he needs to rescued quite often :) just imagining those two kissing as they fly off into the sunset is simply magical :)

I like heroic figures paired with Ash as well, HA I can imagine this scene in my head where Ash is caught by Team Rocket and Lance comes to save him and Lance gives him a hug ^
I like your ideas.
 
Poor Ash always needs to be rescued *cough*... well, I'm sure Lance has his work cut out for him. I still prefer Red~

By the way, which fanfics need to be completed? Most of what I write is one-shots or complete stories, so I'm a little confused...

Lol, I'm guessing you don't like Ash as much? Oh I love Red as well...but only Ash is in the anime, so it's easier to relate with, though I wish there was more fan art for this ship.

No, I don't like Ash as much, though that is partly due to the shipping debates that go on. Ash tends to be paired with almost everyone and every*thing* in the Pokemon universe... I like Red from Pokemon Special/Adventures and Satoshi from Pokemon Zensho (so cute!) and the idea of game! Red as well...

I haven't written any championshipping in something like over three years and the lack of reviews makes it highly unlikely that I will post any more, even if I do write it.
 
Guys, if you want to talk about Red/other Ash shippings, please use one of the other Ash threads, or make a Red thread to do so. Please stick to Championshipping here, thanks~
 
Wouldn't the name championshipping be equally as valid in the anime as it is in the manga, due to the fact that Ash *did* become the Orange Island Champion, didn't he? And in the Groudon VS Kyogre episodes, at least in the Japanese version, Brock mentions that Lance is the 'Champion of the Elite Four'
 
Championshipping needs to happen, they'd go on adventures together and search for hurt Pokemon defeat evil villains.

I agree! Lance would protect Ash, Ash would protect Lance. They would travel the world...destroying evil in their wake...maybe even invent their own motto. Then once their mission was complete, they would settle down, make love every morning and night and stay together forever, expressing their undying love for one another.

I have a motto for them already written down but I don't want to post it here for fear of having it stolen. Would you make it a Championshipping story with any of Ash's rivals come into the picture and be jealous...?

Of course I can, I love Comashipping the best out of all Ash's rivals ships so I'd love it if Paul came in and made Lance jealous.
 
I try not to put Paul or Gary in the same story as Ash and Lance, due to the fact that my version of Ash takes naive stupidity to an extreme and usually ends up breaking up with Lance and running off with one of his rivals instead *sniff* and Lance dies.

By the way, did either of you anonymously review 'The Western Wind' with continuous complaints about how I portrayed Paul?

Aww that is cute yet sad. As long as Ash ends up with Gary, Lance, Drew or even Misty, then I will be happy. I do love your writing style though.
