Hey, I was wondering how many other people had heard about ChampionShipping - AKA Lance/Ash (anime) or Lance/Red (manga, game)? I was rather surprised when it wasn't on the 'shipping redirects' page on bulbapedia.

So, who else has heard of this? Who supports it/why? And please remember that this is supposed to be a discussion, not an argument.

I'll go first: I love this pairing. There may not be much, if anything, that signifies there actually being any truth to it, but I think they're a cute couple.

I've seen this around a bit. There isn't really anything in canon but the common version seems to be that they get together when Red is the Champion/Ash is a Pokémon Master so it still works.

I think TIP and I had a discussion once about how it could work in the Pokemon Special manga, something to do with Lance respecting Red as a trainer who treats his pokemon well and can win victories without having uber special powers.

It can probably also work in the Game canon assuming that 'Red' is the player character and Lance is Lance.

As for the anime, well, Ash is completely clueless about love but I think Lance saved his life twice.
 
Meh, I'm sort of indifferent if you ask me. I saw a bit of potential there, (what with Lance saving Ash, what, twice?) but it just doesn't work for me. Weird.


That shipping redirects thing is missing a boatload of ships, guys. Either someone put it in there or shush about about it :p
