Character Diary Entries

I'm sure this idea has been done in Fanfiction but here's what I'm doing:

To really understand the main characters of my Pokemon BW fanfic, I plan to write diary entries that were written by the main characters prior to the start of the series as well as before they each became orphans to see key points of their past and see them from their perspective. This includes Hilda, Bianca, Cheren, N and a Team Plasma Knight with an connection with one of the other main four. I plan to write them out and show them to the readers in Special Chapters that are put in after most of their pasts are revealed one at a time.

But enough about my fanfic, what about you? What do you think of the idea alone? Would you do it? I'm not saying that it's great since I haven't done it yet so I'd like to know what your thoughts are on this subject.

I think this is a really cool idea!

(I do have to ask... are all of the characters in your story orphans? That's pretty crazy)

I did something similar with the novel that I'm writing, except it wasn't actually diary entries. I just wrote a significant event of their life that happens completely outside of the events of the novel.

I recently decided to abandoned that idea. Though no, not ALL of the characters were to be orphans.

I'm going to use this idea for when Hilda learns of N's past via reading his old diary in his room.

Great idea! Unique and interesting. I look forward to this.
