Characters that Look alike

An interesting issue has come up on Palmer's talk page is whether or not he's related to Volkner because they look somewhat alike. Another example of character look-alikes Prof Oak and Card Club Master Gene
Does anyone else have any other example of look-alike characters?
 
Paul and Kamon (GS Rival). Especially the poses.

Volkner also looks like the 4th Hokage, aka Naruto's daddy.
 
Karen looks like Jeane from Suikoden III...though you could make an argument for Clair too. And we can't forget Fantina, Tucker, and Sashay. It's a family of purple.


On the issue of Volkner and Palmer, it really would have been mentioned somewhere if were they related. Relatives were crawling out of the woodworks in this gen, seriously; there was no hiding them. Cynthia has her sister, grandmother, and a possible grandfather, Maylene's father's in the casino, and you're told Roark and Byron are father/son, but only later are told the Underground Man in Eterna City is /also/ related to them. Then there's obviously Palmer and Barry, and Buck definitely has an older brother in the current E4, but we're not told which one it is (speculation is Flint, but that's based on hair color; I wouldn't count out Lucian or Aaron too much).

The only resemblance I see is wild blond hair, and it's not even wild in the same way. If that's all they got, might as well make cases for Surge and Morty too.

Roark/Byron/Underground Man: Sunyshore City, in the house just below the Seal shop

Cynthia's family: Celestic Town, northern central house

Buck's older brother: Buck himself (on Stark Mountain, before you partner with him, I believe)

Maylene's father: Veilstone City, the casino

Palmer/your rival: ...Either a direct event upon entering the Battle Tower the first time, or Palmer does when you fight him. Can't remember.
 
I never knew Buck was possibly related to the E4, that's new to me.

There also was the Bugsy/Gardenia joke. :)
And the Fantima/Tucker joke as well.

Don't forget Agatha/Bertha. Their is definately intentional, even moreso that both the Japanese and English names sound close.
 
A random kid with black hair (and a black shirt) looked very similar to Ash.

I forgot which episode he was in, though. ^^o


Oh, and there's also the Orange Island gym leader's son. I forgot the gym leader's name, but anyway, her son looked similar to Ash.
 
Ash and Gary were directly based off of 1st generation Red and Green respectively. Jimmy and Marina were also based off of Gold and Crystal.
 
i think buck and flint are brothers, possibly because of hair color, but also they both train fire pokemon

Yeah, that's exactly what I thought!

Also, there's one of the performer people in the beginning of Movie 9, who strikes a pose that makes her look very similiar to Tucker.
 
Yes, I think the Rival in D/P bears a frighteningly similar resemblance to Wally in E/R/S... When I first saw my rival the first person that came to my mind was Wally. Very, very freakish. I wonder what NIntendo/Gamefreak were thinking?
 
I'm surprised no one has mentioned Riley and Sir Aaron yet. Their resemblance is...too freaky. But Riley looks more slender. My friend took one look at his Sugimori art and automatically called him anorexic. 0_o
 
The G/S trainer looks like the R/G trainer, Giovanni looks like Doc Waruyama and Blaine looks like Dr.Eggman.

Riley was designed after Sir Aaron, wasn't he?

I say that Ash/Riley/Sir Aaron look alike, and Paul and Brandon kinda look alike due to that hair of theirs.

And Blaine looking like Dr. Eggman... oh god... you're actually right...
