Can an admin check the arcade? I think theres a cheater there with some sort of Java hacking device.

There are a shitload of java cheating devices for forum like games like this.

And KiraTwig is right how could you possibly get 9,000 on that snake game when you're almost out of room after about 3k?

9600....but...that's....OVER 9000!!!!!

Is it really possible to hack the games? Or is he just really good?

Yeah when the score is send some programs can modify what is being sent. Like you make 300, the program changes that value to 9600 and presto.

You just gotta know the right people.

Considering what his stats says for number of times played for each game....frankly, I think it's plausible that he's just that good. 2058 games of Helicopter?

Though, a couple of his scores do look a little suspicious. I thought Gyroball maxxed out at 387.

I checked into it. I found that his Pac-Man record was set in 20 minutes, with an extremely unlikely scoring possibility attached to it. Like I said, considering some of the random factors in games and how everything just seemed to fall into place for him and how often it happened, it really makes you raise an eyebrow. 15 records in three days? That's just a massive improbability if you ask me.

EDIT: Also, it took him like 30 minutes to set his Starship Legends record.

UFO Shoot Out 48390 1 out of 317 113 05:13:36
Starship Legend 2231 1 out of 579 232 05:43:12

It took around an hour for me to get to around 2000 myself. Well, okay: I'm not quite sure how long it took, but I know it took longer than half an hour (I started at around 1:4xAM; maybe a little earlier or later by ten minutes, and stopped around 2:4xAM, if I remember correctly. According to the arcade timer it was set at 12:28AM my time, but I know I spent much more than half an hour on it). And I was pretty much killing everything that I could that wouldn't get me killed killing too. How could he earn about 200 more than my score in like half the time? In fact, tommorow, I guess I'll put the nail in the coffin and see if that time's really possible.

EDIT 2: And then there's Railway Line.

Gyroball 386 1 out of 675 1174 06:13:06
Railway Line 14959400 1 out of 382 150 09:29:03

Now, that score in itself isn't ridiculous. There's a fairly easy to make happen bug that lets you basically get infinte points. But what I also know is that time is BS. The best I've gotten was like 7,488,000 generated in a day (if you're curious as to why I don't have a record there, it's because I hestitated on the game over screen and it restarted by itself without submitting my score before I could click the button to do so :p). He got around double that in three hours. Okay, he could've just left it on overnight and submitted it later, but I don't think that's what he did, considering the other things pointed against him. Too bad this board doesn't have a "how long was this session?" safety check in place like another, else we could tell for sure.

His Snakeman steve should have been a dead give away. It would be nigh on impossible for him to get over four thousand imo...

Yeah. If it were just one bad record alongside one or two that looked legit, it'd be fine to just wipe the one record and pass it off as heat-of-the-moment desperation (if you're in a good enough mood), but the fact that he has FIFTEEN records, several of which are questionable and one of which is ridiculous, it's enough to throw the whole lot of them into question.

I looked at the time span of when he got highscore 10 and 11 and he received them nearly 2 minutes in between one another. He has to be doing something.

the arcade wont be fun anymore if he has majorly high scores on all the games

He said something to me about "speeding the game up". I'm not sure what that means though.

I absolutely agree- Kiratwig and I only met because of Snakeman Steve and we had somewhat of a fun fight going on over the high score... until now t_t. That many high scores that fast seems absolutely ridiculous, and if he is 'speeding' the game up, I still consider that cheating.

That's even bigger proof of his cheating, in my opinion. I mean, what kind of an excuse is that? Okay, so let's pretend this guy has a processor that can run Java games at breakneck speeds, and let's pretend there's a magical program that makes it run faster in the first place. It still doesn't cover the sheer amount luck required to get the scores in games, but now you also have to factor in how fast he would need to react to pull it off. Some of the games run fast enough as they are.

Yeah, unless I see recorded and clearly unaided video proof of him obtaining a record through the "secrets" he claims to know, I think he's fudging everyone.

5:59PM PST: Starting Starship Legends...
6:50PM PST: Ended Starship Legends. Okay, so I didn't quite make his score, but it still speaks for itself. If I remember correctly, I was at 1000-1100 around the half hour mark, the time he earned his record in. If I didn't get screwed by a random series of asteroids that I had no way of getting out of (unless I luck out and manage to get enough shots out to destroy it), I probably could've made it further. That's more randomness. Hey, I'll say it - I got 20xx the first time playing this, but what it all boils down to there is A: how often you run into those asteroid chains, B: whether the game lets you shoot enough to destroy one (sometimes lots of bullets come out, sometimes none), and C: how risky you play. I find that playing risky usually gets you killed in the game, either because you get hit by an off-screen shot, or the bullets go through the ship you're banking in to shoot at (making you get hit by it; though conversely sometimes they'll destroy it and go through). Could have have sped it up? If such tools exist, then yes, but it wouldn't have helped for the score, because once your score gets past 1500, things start coming really quickly.

Heres how long the snake got when I hit 3000

This would mean 9600 is nothing less then a miracle

I'm up for giving everybody a chance but a 9600 would probably fill the screen up! I mean, jesus, ther is no possible way of gettting that score!

O_O

That's just...insane. Really, I'd say that record alone is enough to put all of them into question. Also note how he didn't start earning high scores until a certain point...then he got loads of them, in a row, with improbable times/scores and inexplicably. I say we should give him a chance to explain everything clearly, concisely, and demonstratably, before we wipe his scores and do something to make sure he can't ever pull the same stunt again.

Liike ban him from the Arcade? Maybe we should find out what Forums he's been to before, and find out about his history on them?

He is just really damn good. Seriously now he probably cheated or something.
