I'm really starting to question whether Chimchar is going to evolve at all at this point.
I mean, isn't it seeming less and less likely? It's had about 3 perfect oppurtunities to do so and yet hasn't even nudged or hinted at it yet.
Against Fantina, it was the one that took out her very powerful Drifblim, and if I'm not mistaken, beat at least one other Pokemon didn't it? It had very high level wins, and had the perfect oppurtunity to ascend in what would only be the fifth gym.
Against Byron in Canalave, even better! It put in WORK in that gym apart from the one win Gliscor collected. It totally handled the match on it's own for a great deal of it and really displayed impressive victories there. Perfect time to have it evolve.
And if they wanted to do it within Paul's presence, then they could've done that when it unlocked Blaze again.
I just don't understand. They can't possibly be holding Monferno off until the League unless it's against Paul, because otherwise, why not do Chimchar-to-Monferno so that we could see Infernape by the League? It doesn't make sense.
I'm really starting to think they're saving Chimchar specifically so that it could show it's worth as a base stage Pokemon, just as they did with Pikachu/Bulbasaur.
