Someone on Pokeani just posted that there's a one hour special on December 24th featuring the Nagisa Gym battle and the Pokéthlon episode.

So I guess the show is really going to move it after the Kojiro episode.

Oh, and if it helps, the site says that they do not know the name of the episode yet, but its supposedly the "best journey" in the way it was worded. XD

If that's the case, I hope Ash loses.

You really think Volkner is only going to get two episodes?

Wasn't it also said Dawn was going to have her last Contest on the way to Sunyshore?

What's DP154-156 then?

the poster has no source and no proof and sounds fairly suspicious, so i would take this news with a grain of salt everyone :) i'll believe volkner is coming when i see the scan with the words upon it.

volkner's debut is being highly anticipated in all of japan so you can expect to see lots of stuff flying around.

Well, they said in the post it's real information. Even if that's not really legit PROOF thats how it is, the episode isn't showing up for awhile, and it's all the information we have (and we can always update the thread info as time goes on).

For now, this is what we have and we should discuss accordingly, ne?

I'm not sure I like there's going to be a christmas eve gym battle.

That's about 6 episodes. 3 of them are accounted for. I guess it could mean after James episode they hit Sunyshore City.

But it could mean a few other things as well.

1. The gym battle is only one episode (if Ash wins)- Seriously what the hell? It also means something is going to get knocked out easily, like Gliscor did in Snowpoint City, do not want.

2. If Ash loses- What would be the point? I'm sick of people saying he should lose just because he technically didn't lose an official gym battle since Roark. It makes no sense, and at this point unless Paul struggles to beat Volkner, then there really is no point for an Ash vs Paul match, since Ash wouldn't be able to win. Unless Paul pulls out Baby Pokemon during his match with Ash during the league.

3. At three episodes unaccounted of before the gym battle, it also makes it seem unlikely Ash is going to get that certain Pokemon we thought he might get. One of the episodes has to be the contest (or else should, since I think it was confirmed they'd be going there before Sunyshore City), and possibly an introductory episode to Sunyshore City. That leaves one episode, which I highly doubt we'll be reserved for that special capture.

I'm not sure (whatever the case) this is going to be a good thing.

Yeah, its not like the writers to suddenly give Volkner some rushed 2-episode appearance, especially since in Sinnoh the Gym leaders tend to get extra episodes.

If it is a Gym battle though, then let Ash lose, and come back for a proper victory later.

Since Johto the final Gym Leader has taken at least two episodes because, as they're the last one Ash faces, they're seen as the strongest opponent to that point, so it takes a lot more time to get past them. I would be surprised if Sinnoh breaks this trend, especially given Volkner's attitude in the games.

BULLSHIT. Come on right after the Pokethlon? I mean in Sunnyshore we have way more shit than any other city going down.
-Dawn's Final Contest
-Flint popping up
-Volkner's Intro
-The final gym battle is always a double battle. No exceptions here. AT ALL. If it airs with another episode no way would it be a 2-Parter so this discredits everything for me.

Not to mention we are inevitably going to have Barry or Paul lose to Volkner to set up the drama of him always winning and being bored. Thus a 2-Parter would also be necessary as this would be the longest gym battle he had in a long time and a fun one at that.

Well I suppose they could skip over Flint for now...although they are following the games closely this gen...

Skipping over Flint would make everyone angry, more so then Ambipom I bet. And wait is it Asatsuki Town(Anime-Only) or Nagisa City getting the contest? Cause if its an Anime only city well then no way in hell are we in Sunnyshore by DP159. I mean would they really go and do Sunnyshore then the Anime town? As far as I know every contest had a reveal then it not reveal gym then contest.

Then having Ash lose at Volkner and come back for a rematch in a later episode would make sense.

I'd like to see Ash lose at a final Gym leader for once. He beat the Viridian Gym, Claire and Juan all on his first try.

Well with Claire he had quite a bit of difficulty; as I recall, the match got interrupted partway through when Ash was losing, and when it went back to the battle they started all over again with different Pokemon on Ash's side. Not exactly a "first try" victory.

Yes, it makes perfect sense, if you want his supposed victory over Paul at the league to be even more cheap than it's probably going to be.

If Ash loses to Volkner they may as well throw in the towel for his sinnoh pokemon because that will be the third important battle in a row his team will have lost since Snowpoint.

Besides he already lost to Surge, and evened out with Wattson, let him win this one straight and fair and be done with it.

Of course i'm taking this information with a grain of salt as a whole, because it's hard to see them only have one episode focusing on the GL, when all of them this season have at least gotten 2 episodes or more.

He beat the Viridian Gym, Claire and Juan all on his first try.

Well remember, Giovanni wasn't in at that time to kick his ass with Mewtwo like he did with Gary, so he got lucky and had to just fight Team Rocket instead (which was inevitable anyway =P).

Also, I imagine Ash will have an easy breezy time with Volkner, even if it lasts more than one episode, simply judging that he was able to beat Fantina's Mismagius with a fucking Chimchar that technically didn't even belong to him at that point. >_> If Ash loses, there it's either for drama, or because Team Rocket interferes with their battle.

Also remember that Volkner and Flint have a really good relationship, so Volkner may appear more with Flint when he makes a proper debut too. Plus, that make the Elite four challenge a little more epic =)

Hmm, I wonder if perhaps the animators will have Flint watch the battle with Brock and Dawn (whenever it may be) and judge for himself the effect it has on Volkner's love of battling being rekindled. It wouldn't surprise me.

I'm honestly more interested in seeing Sunyshore than Volkner. Although I have a feeling they'll ruin it like they ruined Pacifidlog.

And I can kinda tell that the most interesting thing in the city won't be given on the show at all (and you all know EXACTLY what I'm talking about. Hint=backstory).
