Church shooting with 2 victims dead

I actually drove by that church once. It was terrible that happened in a church. Those people were brave, holding that man down.

At least none of the children were shot... that would have been awful. But still, this is just disgusting, just like every school/church/public area shooting.

Those poor people...gosh this is so very sad.

My heart goes out to their families.

Apparently, he did it because the people were liberals, and he said all liberals need to die because they're ruining the country.

This is sad:

"Sunday's attack was the fourth time in 15 months that an American church became a scene of a fatal shooting."

Why can't they leave religen alone. I mean, 4 times in less thatn two years? That's way too much.

Pfft, forget about religion. Shootings happening at all are sad. There's way too much OVERALL. I think it's a DAMNED shame when someone's particularly saddened or horrified that it's a church. Heck, I'm the least surprised when it's a church. Depending on the person, lessons taught in church can inspire hate or fear, coupled with their own violent tendencies/issues/etc and combined with access to a gun of any sort makes a "well, go figure" scenario for me.

But hey, whatever gets people moving, amirite? It hits a little bit too home when it happens where religion is involved, THAT is when people get upset: it's their RELIGION, those people killed have my RELIGION, I think it's my entire country's RELIGION. A school shooting? Boys will be boys! Hey, some of them may have been troublemaking, dope-smoking crackhead heathens or worse yet- LIBERALS, or atheists, or Jewish! Muslim! Buddhist! Hindu! GOD BLESS AMERICA.

...in short, seriously, it all comes down to guns and people who really shouldn't even know the existence of guns.

I do just find it sad that a victim's death is either a statistic or a tragedy, depending on where they were, what they were, etc. It's not a tragedy anymore at a school. It's startling, but not a tragedy, when it's a mall or other public place. What will happen when church shootings get to the point that THEY are not tragedies. (Question mark not included for a reason: I don't care to have the same answer repeated.)

Why can't they leave religion alone? That simply made me laugh, religion is one of the worst human inventions to date and easily one of the stupidest ideologies ever bar none. Regardless of any good it actually does (hardly any at that) that is outweighed tenfold by all the bad and evil that stem from it. It leads to conflict (my imaginary friend is better than yours), bigotry and ignorance. If anything religion has had it coming, a majority of the violence/prejudice/hate and conflict in our history are due to religion or justified by it. Faith doesn't give us morality or guidance and it keeps our minds infantile (why question anything in this world? why conduct any science? I mean God made it so just accept that) and stupid.
I fully support Dawkins on religion if anything religion has had it coming for a long long time. I honestly wish I had been born in a post religious world, alas I was born too early but then again that may never happen because mankind may never actually manage to overcome this demon.

There's no way we'll ever be free from religion. It's too hard-wired into society. A great deal of people simply wouldn't know how to live without envisioning a magical old man patting them on the back for all of their actions and tormenting everyone they disagree with. Too many people need outside validation for all of their life choices.

What happened is horrible, but I know of so many horrible things. I think everything like this is horrible, although this kind of stuff doesn't suprise me.
