Bush or SOMEONE should just talk to her for 5 seconds so we can all go on with our lives. I'm sick of her. I was behind her at first, but now it's just...stupid. Although, I blame the media for making me feel that way.

He talked to her months ago, and sent someone out who's pretty friggin high up to speak to her weeks ago.

I'm with Grn on this, at first I agreed with her, but now it's just stupid. I think Bush should just meet with her just so she'll get off the damn news. He doesn't actually have to do or say anything of importance or change any positions. Just meet with her. If she's still not happy, then too bad, all she wanted was another meeting.

Besides, an immediate pull-out would cause a lot of problems. I was opposed to the war, but now we're there and it's important that we don't leave a disaster in Iraq (though that could happen anyway).

I agree with her, but I think her cause is being exploited by interest groups now. Not that I necessarily disagree with those groups and their causes, but it certainly does not make the anti-war effort look good with the majority of moderate Americans.

Bush likes to stay around people who agree with him. Just a few days ago, he said that not many people agree with Sheehan, yet his approval rating and public support for the war are both a good number of points below 50 percent. He admits he doesn't read newspapers, and he has yet to attend a single funeral for an Iraq war soldier. If something can't be seen, it apparently doesn't exist.

1) Sheehan's views are so radically left that a VERY small minority in this country agrees with her. They're the Kos/MoveOn liberals, or about 10% of the country, tops.

2) Who was the last president to attend a soldier's funeral during a time of war? Go!

(Shrugs) She deserves an answer.

I'd say something like "Your son died so that the Iraqi people could be free from despotism and finally able to enjoy the blessings of liberty."

And then work on getting a half-decent constitution in Iraq and calling heavily on the other democracies of the world to spread the ideals of freedom.

If he says that with the sort of constitution Iraq is about to get, the whole world laughs at him.

And all the non-Fox medias burn the hell out of him.

Personally, while I can sort of see where Sheehan is coming from (and I don't mean the Drudge report/Faux News out-of-context-quotes-based interpretation thereof, Mozz, so keep that cretin out of it, you know how much respect (ie none) I have for him as a legit source), I think she's wasting her time and looking bad.

However, it's symptomatic of the Bush's administration record for running away from critics.

One day, hopefully, Dubya and the Reps will have to own up to their mistakes and explain the whole disaster.

Hence my "And work on getting Iraq a half-decent constitution" phrase.

(Of course, there's a quite durable one back home they could copy, if the deadlock can't be broken... *evilgrin*)

Why is everyone so up in arms on how long it's taking the Iraqis to write a constitution? It's not like the Americans sat down in one day and decided things. From the point when the Declaration of Independence was declared it took over a decade for America to ok a Constitution. And we were pretty much all Christian. Religion wasn't a real issue.

I've been bitching about this war from the beginning, but even I can give these guys quite a bit more time to finish writing their constitution.

I just wish Bush didn't seem to live in his own little world. He's like Michael Jackson, only instead of touching kids, he starts wars.

She posted something on her web site that people should be focusing more abroad, and that too much attention was being paid to Kartina...she later apoligized for it, but she has lost almost all of her credebility. These attempts at making her political agenda known in these times...well, is thought of as selfish. She does have an agenda, true, but...what makes her case any different from Terri Schivo's in terms of morality? Right-wingers jumped all over Schivo, due to it being "immoral". Well, many would tell you this whole stupid war is immoral and pointless, and is being fought in the wrong place. Her son died in a very controversial war. She's getting media attention to demoralize the Bush administration because of this war, the same thing Terri Schivo's parents did to Michael Schivo and his decision to take his wife off the feeding tube. What makes her cause any different, aside from the fact that she actually has issues with the government?

I think a coup should be staged to overthrow Bush and elect her president.

What's wrong with MoveOn?! I'm a member.
