So is this, like, Marvel's answer to Inifinite Crisis?

Eh, both Marvel and DC have been doing the "OMG SUPA EVENT CANT MISS IT BYE BUY IT NOW MINIONS" thing for a couple years. Avengers Disassembled and Identity Crisis were the first major ones of this century, am I right? Which came first?

What's funny is how Marvel tries claiming this is connected to all the House of M/Decimation business, but it doesn't seem to be at all.

Infinite Crisis has a lot to do with the Multiverse and "cosmic stuff" (as Spider-Man says), right? Civil War focuses more on the politics and rights of super heroes.

Anyway, not terribly impressed with the news coverage until we get to the level of publicity the Death of Superman event got. ^^

Issue one hits today... *gulp* My expectations are very low.

New Avengers: Illuminati explains it all.

Both companies have been doing mega events for decades. There's no REAL comparisons you can draw between the two events beyond the fact that they're both company-wide. Both companies usually do one or two REALLY big events every year, and Civil War and Infinite Crisis/52 are just this year's.
