Yeah I'm bored so I decided to think of a rather random topic here and ask: What cleaning habits do you have around the house?

Some of mine include, vacuuming the house at least twice a week and changing the vacuum bags at least every two weeks. I like to keep the bathrooms virtually spotless and usually clean the entire bathroom with all purpose cleaner and the toilets with various scents of Lysol and Clorox. I try and mop every chance I get and I even clean out my garbage can regularly (since we have one big can that we get from the recycling center).

So what are some of your cleaning habits?

I tend to clean my room before I go to bed. I also clean my room when away from my laptop.

I also have loads of special computer cleaning habits, but I wont go there right now.

However, other than cleaning my room and picking up trash, I'm a total slob.

Hmm, strange topic.
Anyways, im so messy its not even funny. I basically clean up my room only when it is near impossible to walk in and I only do laundry after all my clothes are all on my floor and I have worn each article of clothing at least twice. (excluding underwear, but I wont go there)

Yeah so im pretty much the neat freaks worst nightmare.

Ah yes you bring up a good point about laundry. I usually do my laundry with both regular detergent and Clorox 2. For the whites it's Clorox premium white bleach.

I only clean up when indescribable particles start to stick to my feet, or an equally as indescribable smell starts filling up my apartment.

I'm just not bothered, yet, quite honestly. There's dust everywhere just now for example. However, I come from a home where we had four cats which means no matter how much is cleaned, the end of the day will be the same as the morning - a huge dusty mess.
Guess the indifference followed when I moved out XD

I plan on doing a big cleanup once a month, though, and otherwise sweep the floors once a week (considering I'm only home from the evening till early morning on weekdays, so it's limited how much of a mess I can make).

The trash is taken out whenever is needed, the dust is removed whenever and so forth. The dust is my biggest problem D:

Yeah, same here... pretty much exactly the same. :D For some reason I just can't motivate myself do things like that... things like that just hold little or no importance to me...

I'm a neat freak, but I share a room with my siblings, so its near impossible to keep clean. The energy spent to keep it perfectly clean the way I like it, all the time, is impossible to do, so I only clean when it really starts to bother me; although it becomes a mess within the next 10 minutes.

I live with my parents, so they clean the house (except my room). I clean my room when I get tired of everything stagnating. It never really gets messy in the first place, so I don't clean often, maybe once or twice a month.

I run the dishwasher whenever clean plates and utensils are running low. I do laundry when clean clothes are getting scarce. I pick up cat vomit because otherwise I step in it. I clean the cat boxes once I week if I remember/whenever they look like they need a changing/when they start to smell(whichever happens first). I maintain a path in my room to get to my bed, dresser, and closet; the rest can be as messy as I feel like having it(why clean it? I'm the only one who ever sees my room, and I don't care if it's a mess!). I vacuum if the floors start to look nasty or if I find too many random hairs(cat or human) sticking to my feet. I scrape algae off the fish tank when the fish start becoming hard to find. If people are coming over, the house is tidied up more than that, but it's still not pristine.

...basically, if it doesn't get in my way and/or disgust me, I don't bother cleaning it. That's time I could use for more important(or at least entertaining) things, after all. I'm really the "nobody REALLY cares if I dust, pick the clothes up from my bedroom floor, mop, vacuum more than once every other month, or clean the sinks and shower, so it's a waste of my time" type. That's what happens when you don't get many visitors, I suppose. XD

Actually, sometimes if something's *too* uncluttered, I get an urge to mess it up in some way. Otherwise it seems too artificial and boring for me. See:fresh layers of snow(must...make...footprints...in it...), spaces in rooms with nothing in them(come on, put a few random little things like books or boxes of stuff there), neatly arranged books on bookshelves and nowhere else(this isn't a libary, take some of those books out and put 'em on a table or something, and let the rest be a bit less-than perfect!), most gardens and lawns(would it KILL you people to let a few dandelions grow in the yard? They add some nice yellow to an otherwise boring yard of grass. And gardens are nice and all, but...eh, I just really prefer natural, random flowers XD). Maybe it's just because I'm not used to some of those things, but...

I have military habits when it comes to cleanings. My floors are always vacuumed, my desk is spotless, as well as my bathroom.

I'm not a complete neat freak because my car does get messy every now and again.
