Giggity:

1. Save in front of the PC in the Battle Tower.
2. Deposit the pokemon you want to clone in an empty box.
3. Leave the PC and save again.
4. Go to the PC one more time and withdraw the pokemon you want to clone, the one that's in an empty box.
5. Talk to the lady on the far right, and she will ask you to join a Multi Battle.
6. Select Yes and choose any two pokemon.
7. When she asks if you want to save, select Yes.
8. If everything so far has been done correctly, the game will wait about one second before doing anything else.
9. It doesnt matter what you do from her, the One Second wait was the glitch taking place.
10. Turn off your game, and now the cloned pokemon is both in the PC and in your party.

EDIT: This actually didin't work for me. I just tried it.

Re: Cloning pokemon in emerald

Switch step 1 and 2, and it should work. You need to have your ready-to-clone pokemon in a box (it doesn't even have to be empty) before saving. I've cloned too many Torchics to know how to do it.

Re: Cloning pokemon in emerald

Here is how I do it:
Step 1: Deposit pokemon in battle tower.
Step 2: Save
Step 3: Withdraw pokemon
Step 4: Talk to the link multi battle, select any pokemon, and turn off the power when it says "would you like to save".
Step 5: Smile, you now have cloned.

Also, there is a delay before the would you like to save message.

Re: Cloning pokemon in emerald

I cloned my mewtwo 30 times this way!
I had already knew about it before this, though, from youtube.

Re: Cloning pokemon in emerald

I should get a working copy of emerald again... my other one's save feature went out.

Re: Cloning pokemon in emerald

The Emerald cloning trick is incredibly useful. Though you can only clone 5 Pokemon at a time, you can clone many dozens of items fairly easily using the same trick. You just attach the items you want to clone to a Pokemon in the PC using the "Move Item" feature introduced in Emerald (and FireRed/LeafGreen), then save. Go back into the PC and take the items back into your bag, then go through the bit with the woman at the counter. If you fill an entire PC box, you can clone 30 items at a time, or create 30 more of a single item. Very useful for stuff like master balls or nuggets.

I should get a working copy of emerald again... my other one's save feature went out.

That's unusual... there's no SRAM save in the Gen III games; the battery was only for the real-time-clock.

Re: Cloning pokemon in emerald

I had no idea about the item thing.. that is brilliant :D

emralds save glich is good but dont move any other pokemon besides the ones you are cloneing they will get dleated i learnt it the hard way:lol:

When I started to exploit this glitch, it only worked if I deposited it in Box 7, which had to be empty
