I think alot of people want a game that contains all of the regions and those regions Pokemon. A collaboration. My idea for this game would include:

1)The ability to choose which region you start in.
2)The ability to change what region you are in via boat, for all regions have some form of harbor or dock.
3)A region's Pokemon are only found in that region, i.e. Ponyta in Kanto, Vibravia in Hoenn, and Chingling in Sinoh.
4) Migrating Pokemon. It's a different form of Swarms, but it can be found in different regions, not just Routes.
5) The ability to capture every Pokemon in the National Dex, including Legendaries, no more events, they are unfair to alot of people living in different areas, that cannot have Wireless Internet to connect their DS's.
6)The inclusion of all Elite Four's, Gyms, and Teams, such as Rocket and Magma.
7)Game gets progressvily harder. Like in Gold and Silver when somebody went to Neo-Kanto, you could find pokemon much stronger there than you would on Red or Blue.
8)Fully customizable character.
9)Citizens aknowledge your character's accomplishments. For example, in Ruby and Saphire, after beating the appropriate team a man somewhere (I forget, I was told this in another forum) said, and I quote: "I heard somebody got rid of Team Aqua/Magma." Why yes, that was me! Oh I'm sorry, I can't tell you, I'm mute.
10) No more roaming Pokemon. Nobody likes chasing down Mesprit, or Suicune.
11) That's all I can think of right now. Post other Ideas that might help add to this one

Any time a hacking device is used the game save file would be erased.......

Getting the other starters throughout the game (like yellow)

Reintroduce Dive

I would keep some of the roaming legendaries ( the 3 dogs )

A once off item that makes the next pokemon you see shiny (not usable on legends, eggs or starters)

Thats about it. Perhaps video cutscenes throughout the game

I'd like a full 3D adventure where you can not only take out one pokémon, but as many as you'd like in your party of six. I'd also like to see a little animation of the pokémon coming in and out of the pokéball. I'd also like to see an overhauled battle system that's more "real-time" than the actual one (of course, you'd have the option of switching systems anytime you want).

One thing however, that I would really like (and that irks me in the 3D games) is having fish-based pokémon confined to battling in bodies of water. If it's against a non-water type, than there could be small patches of land so as to make the battle more interesting. Of course, this is just an idea so I haven't thought that far yet, but I think it would be interesting nonetheless. I would understand, of course, that at certain times you would want to keep a fish-based pokémon with you in your regular party, so the system could be optional.

Just curious, but why would anyone want this?

To stop hackers obviously

Even if it's just to fool around and have fun? Plus, for someone whos's incapable of attending any events and has no way to connect to Wi-Fi, wouldn't hacking be a necessity to complete their pokedex (not necessarily hacking the pkmn itself, but rather the item to obtain said pkmn)?

In this situation Im sure somebody they know would have wifi access

Anyway they need to do something to stop hackers IMO

It would be extra cool if the trick house in Hoenn would get new challanges for every gym you beat in no matter what region. That would give us at least 32 challanges ^^

IT would also be cool if Orre was included, for the battles and colosseums, and for the awesomeness of it.

I agree that ppl trading hacked pkmn is a problem, but it's kind of the reason why hacking can help. For someone (like me) who'd rather not go online and look for a pkmn that I never know may be hacked, I'd rather hack the item myself to get said pokemon, since I have no chance of ever having any event come to where I live. I think having a saved file erased just because you're hacking is a bit drastic, especially if it's to have a bit of fun.

I think this game would be perfect for when holodecks are invented. I would never leave ever.

How about Installing a little of Rangers Mechanics in it, like helping citizens with vine whip can get A Glameow that's stuck on top of a tree
or i personally would like if a Pokemon uses surf out of battle it retains the shape.

i would like to see this too but i would like to see it as an online MMORPG, they could add a pid subscription (say £10 a month) and keep adding new content to it. But i would like it to be completely 3D and that you can see the pokemon walking around some would attack randomly and others you could go other and attack to catch them. kind of How Blue Dragon works for Xbox 360. Dunno if anyone else like this idea but i would like to see it.

I would want a fully 3D adventure as well with all the area in pokemon as mentioned above. I think the MMO engine would be nice because then you could have people form in another area of the game to become like gym leaders or E4 members, pretty much like IPGL but in an actual game (it'd have to be in another area otherwise you'd replace the current gym leaders)...

I personally have no problem with event pokemon. If you don't have wifi access then I'm sure someone you know does. If you don't know anyone who does, I'm sure theres a Starbucks, McDonalds, Wendys or someplace that has wifi near you. And even if you manage to find a place that doesn't have wifi access, then you're SOL I guess, but really I doubt there are many, if any places that a person would have access to a DS and games for it but not have access to wifi.

Also, I don't mind chasing down the roaming pokemon. Its an extra gameplay mechanic that breaks the monotony of the game, and adds some extra challenge. Its not that difficult to catch these pokemon. It would be nice, however, if it wasn't decided when you start your game whether these pokemon were shiny or not, but rather when you first encounter them.

Overall pokemon is an engine that works, there doesn't need to be a lot of changes to it. Most of the ideas in this thread aren't changing a whole lot, but more or less combining several games, in a way that could make for a very happy fan base.

I agree with everything OP stated and have thought about this before.

I visioned this game as an MMO though.
