Hi there! I thought I'd come see if my Bulbagarden account was still active, and lo and behold it is, lol. By way of an offering of helpfulness, I thought I'd share with you an item FAQ I've been working on since Diamond and Pearl first came out in Japan. ;) You can find it at the following link:

Item FAQ

It's not complete yet by any means, but I'm getting there. I only just recently "Americanized" the names and things, and I still have some kinks to work out. :p If you have something to add, feel free to let me know. If I use your information, I'll credit you. ;)

Hope everyone's having a blast with these games. :p I know I am!

Big update. I know few of you are interested in this (given that I've had 0 replies, lol) but I just wanted to let you know that the guide has been updated and I now have a bunch of new information in it about things like Pokeball seals, Mystery Gift, Items you can only get by transferring from GBA games, etc. Also, I need some help with a few areas, and I'm hoping you guys can help. :p Any and all help will be appreciated and credited!

1. Which berries can you get as prizes in the Pal Park? I currently only know of a few, and I'd love to have someone confirm others for me. :3

2. What items can you get through mystery gift? And do any of you know the japanese phrase for activating it? I'd like to set up my japanese Pearl game with it so I can start gifting myself each day and recording the items, lol.

3. Anything else you see that is missing, please let me know if you know how to fill it out. :p

Thanks everyone!

That's not what Mystery Gift is for. Mystery Gift will be used to get event items from Nintendo. You can find the items at Serebii's website.

If you look at my FAQ you will notice that there are three options under the mystery gift menu:
Get from a Friend
Get Via Wireless
Get Via Nintendo WFC

Not all of those are necessary for Nintendo to use on Event items. :( I don't mind constructive input, but I do expect you to at least look at what I already have on the subject. :p And no, Serebii doesn't have the items listed on his site either, lol. Heck, he doesn't even have a mystery gift page, lol.

Yes he does. It's on the items page. I suggest that you take a look. And, yes, ALL of those are used for event items. I've already tried. It's been like that since FR/LG/E.

I'm sorry, but I must be dense. :p Where on the items page does it list the Mystery Gift items? I don't see a heading for it. And besides, you're not listening to what I say. I'm not saying you CAN'T get event items using Mystery gift. I'm saying that they're not the ONLY ones you can get. You have the option available to gift with a friend, whether through wireless or wifi. You also have the option to gift directly with Nintendo WFC. In there somewhere there is a way to get Mystery Gifts with other players. We only have to find it.

You're not listening. I already tried that. It doesn't work. This is not the same Mystery Gift as in G/S/C. Mystery Gift is used to get event items from Nintendo. The reason why Get from a Friend is there is if your friend has the event item. You are able to share event items, which has been shown by trading the Eon Ticket into Emerald.

It's in the Key Items section obviously.

You don't use Mystery Gift in D/P in the way that you did in G/S/C.

From a friend is used to transfer the Manaphy egg to D/P.
Local Wireless is used for events such as the Darkrai one happening in Japan alongside the 10th movie
And WiFi Connection is probably what will be used for Nintendo to send out the event items for Shaymin, Darkrai and Arceus later down the line in a similar way to the Animal Crossing WW events.

There are no items to receive from Mystery Gift other than that.

Actually, the Manaphy Egg is a seperate process, unless it's different in Europe.

I wouldn't know, I simply assumed since it definitely wasn't either of the other two and I had been informed that it was transferred in using Mystery Gift.

Well, in the US version, all you had to do was push Start at the title screen while having Pokemon Ranger's wireless communication active. Dunno if the European version does the same.

Oh... :(

Okay, now I get it. I told you I was being really dense, lol. Since the Mystery gift items didn't have their own heading, I just assumed they weren't there. And since the menu options were what they were, I just assumed that Game Freak made the Mystery gift option "good" like it was in G/S/C, lol. *Sigh.* Okay then. I'll have to remove that portion of my FAQ. I still want the Japanese phrase to unlock Mystery gift though. :) When they start getting distributed via Wifi in Japan, I'll be wanting the gifts, lol.

I'm sorry to say this, since I initiated it, but could we keep any more discussion about mystery gift out of this topic? As far as I'm concerned, that portion of my FAQ has been resolved, and I have others that need attention. :p Thanks for your help, guys!

You just said you wanted the phrase that unlocks Mystery Gift. Do you want it or not?

The Japanese phrase is the same as the English one, just in Japanese.

Only any help to you if you can read/translate Japanese though I guess...

The phrase in English is EVERYONE HAPPY and WI-FI CONNECTION. I'm not Japanese, so I don't know how to translate them.

But I wasn't asking for the English phrase. :( If you'd looked at my item FAQ (which I already know you didn't) you'd know that I already KNOW those. I want the Japanese phrases because I have a Japanese game, lol.

That's why I asked for the Japanese phrases. See? :p

It's exactly the same. Even a dictionary would yield the correct answer.

みんな ハッピー Wi-Fi つうしん

Thanks so much. :p Wow, you even put it in kana for me, lol.

"minna HAPPII" and "Wi-Fi tsuushin" :p Ryoukai! Thanks a bunch!
