So, perhaps my title was a tad overdramatic, but there we are, eh?
I hope this is OK in this subforum, but I didn't see a Merchandise-specific area, so I figured General 'mon was my best bet. If not, please move Mods, and apologies for the incovenience.

Since this is my very first post here (and for that, I'm sorry) I suppose I ought to introduce myself before I carry on. My name is Sunscorch (or Joe, if you prefer), and I am the creator and coordinator of The Zukan Ranger Project. I also administrate the MapleTowers forum, and am active on several Pokemon-related LJ Communities. My interests aside from Pokemon include web design, rock climbing and kayaking ^_^

Ok, now down to business, eh?
I mentioned above The Zukan Ranger Project, which is the first English-language site to provide information and help on the almost infamous Yujin Zukan Figures. In case you haven't heard of them, the Zukan Figures are PVC gashapon figures from Japan (where else? :p), and they are wonderfully collectable. The main reasons for this collectability are, firstly, the intense attention to detail in the figures, and secondly, the fact that they are all at exactly 1/40th the scale of the sizes listed in the Pokedex (or Zukan, in Japanese).

But for what do I need you guys, you may ask.
Well, it's simple. At the moment we are currently using a lot of images from a Japanese site of a similar nature. I want to end this shortcoming as quickly as I am humanly able. Therefore I ask of those of you who may have some of these figures to speak up now, and hopefully, we will be able to amass a collection of unique photographs of our very own.

So please, I ask you, post up a list of your collections, or discuss the figures in general, or both!

Also, I'll just add, I have been working quite closely with one of the Wiki writers for your Toy Collection project here at Bulba, and she complimented me on my helpfulness. I sincerely hope the community can pull together and return the favour ^_^

Yours sincerely, hopefully and with thanks in advance,
Joe

didn't they also release a set of shiny Pokemon figurines?

Yep, that they did. I know, because I got a few for my birthday a couple of years ago. They were Tyrogue, Haracross, Spinarak and Zapdos. I think there were others, but those are the only 4 I have.

I do have a big collection. I have a few Japanese toys (two Blastoises still in the package, a small, stuffed Elekid, Snubbull and a couple japaneses Pikachu toys). I also have figures galore, a ton of plushies, big, medium and small. There's also the misc. items and other things.

I recall seeing an ad for them quite a while ago. I found it amusing that Latios was among them (and now I'm hearing you got a shiny Thunder), as there was official acknowledgment of shiny legendaries. I'd laugh my head off if there're figures of a shiny Jirachi (from what I hear of its legitimately obtainable methods, it seems like it'd by all accounts be impossible to get shiny without a cheat device... I mean, downloads have set stats, don't they? It's not like you download an item that'll take you to a special map where you can reset to encounter them multiple times).

Actually, I think I remember a year or two back I seen some shiny Japanese toys. I'll have to go look for it later.

Legitimate Jirachi can be shiny, just a heads up.
