I was debating whether or not to put this in a separate thread, so Mods, if you feel you need to merge this, go ahead.

Will HGSS come on Colored Storage Media?

This was a staple (and one of my favorite parts of Pokemon games) during the first three generations, and then DPPt came. The carts were Dark Grey like every other DS cart.

HGSS are Gold and Silver, so I would imagine those colors are a little easier to produce than Diamond and Pearl. (There's no excuse for Platinum, T.T)

Thoughts?

Better yet, will colored storage media return for future games? Or is it s thing of the past?

There's no real way of knowing, but we can hope.

I think it's more likely to return next generation rather than this one. Assuming there is going to be a next generation. Seriously, how can they have anything come after Arceus?

Yeah for first one and for Arceus, that brought up a lot, you don't have to top arceus. Every region has its own legends, well Kanto does not really as far as I know, so if the region has its own legends, like most places on earth does, there is always something you can do, but this is off topic.

I'd like colored cartridges, but I can't see it this time around, actually I have not seen any DS carts other than grey ones.

Hmm. I hadn't thought of that. I don't see why they wouldn't; the plastic appears to be a simple casing, just like other cartridges. So maybe they'll have colored cards again. It's possible.

Right, which is why I wonder what happened in the first place.

Other games didn't even replicate colored carts until after RGBY.

Shinx, I've seen White and Black DS flash carts, and a Black official game, but nothing outside of that.

That really was one of the cool parts of Pokemon. That little Red game pack really stood out against all those black sheep in my bag.

Unlike past hardware, though, DS cards don't stick out / are not visible while playing normally. The could have gold & silver plastic, but you wouldn't really be able to appreciate it at a glance.

Still, yeah, it'd be cool.

As always, how many things passed up Mewtwo? Everything only equaled it until Arceus.

I'd like a return for the colored cartridges, but the thing is, DS cards are put together differently than GB, GBC, and GBA ones.

Yeah, this perception that all new Legendary Pokemon must surpass the old ones in power, and if they don't than no new Pokemon can be made ever is silly and baseless. "OMG!11! this is the last gen I swears!"

Yes, but unless that particular type of plastic is integral to the design (and given that other SD cards come in a variety of colors, I doubt it would be), I don't see why they couldn't simply use a different color.

I thought the reason for not being colored was because of how would you color a diamond and a pearl? Both are white (though diamonds are commonly depicted blueish white and pearls are pinkish withe both are still white) and that they kept that with Platinum to not look strange so I assumed that as GSDS was a different game and with "easier" colors, they would be colored, but I never thought of these facts you are puting here.

I think for diamond and pearl the problem was how not to make it look too girly. With gold and silver it would be perfectly fine to make a bunch of gold carts and a bunch of silver carts.

Which somehow complements and even expands my point of diamond and pearl having difficult colors. But looking girly doesn't looks to me like a problem, given the franchise is already too childish that a lot of people consider it girly.

Platinum and its storyline want to have a word with you. Seriously I think Masuda or others have seen this might be a problem and they could very easily work on making it a bit kiddy but with dark stuff as well.

As was mentioned before, the game "cards" used for DS games aren't visible when they are put in unlike the previous game carts, so it would make no difference to have special colored ones when they aren't even seen.

Also, It's probably more cost effective to use the same cards then to have specially made ones just for your game.

If you have a black DS lite or DSi which a lot of people do the silver or gold would show from above. Either way it would be smart just to add a special zing to show that these are special.

it may be worth mentioning that, with the exception of generation 3, Japan never had the colored cartridges to begin with.

It's not just the power possessed my Arceus, it's the legend that goes with it. He supposedly created the Pokémon universe - how can you just place Pokémon's equivalent of God in the middle of the Dex?

Then again, that didn't stop them with Mew.

On-topic. I have to agree with a previous post, the card slides the whole way into the system and thus isn't very noticeable. Heck, it's barely noticeable out of the system - the front of the card is almost entirely engulfed in the label, making the card's coloration visible only from the edges or the back. But who knows, maybe they'll fix that with their next handheld.

They're seen when they're out of the DS. And you can see the edge and a little of the front of the card when it's inside the DS, about as much as you could of the GBA games, proportionally speaking. But it might be more cost-effective. Although it's by no means "our" game.

He's just a God. Know who created the universe in Greek mythology? Gaia and Oranos (more or less). Know what happened to Oranos? Cronos castrated him. Know what happened to Cronos? Zeus overthrew him. So there could easily be other gods from the creator.

Um, that's the confusing path that is GREEK mythology. In pokemon mythology, which is totally different, they state ARCEUS created the pokemon world.
