I came back to my dorm last night to find it internetless - dunno whether it's a problem on Comcast's end or mine, but either way, this morning I had to change dorms, which means I have to change my address and possibly get other things done. I have no idea when I'll be able to return for a reasonable length of time - could be tomorrow, could be a week from now, could be longer. I'll do the best I can to return to the chat ASAP.
 
My money is on "tomorrow".

Well, we will do our best to keep the chat going while you are out. The channel is in good hands, so just do what you need to do, relax a little, and we'll see you when you get back..... don't do anything too crazy... but have some fun!
 
One more reason that proves that Comcast sucks. :p

Anyway yeah, we'll make sure the chat is still active/modded in the time you're gone so no need to worry, and hurry back. :p
 
Strange, at CMU my internet comes from the campus ethernet.

Go with DSL, it works a lot faster in the field (you have to be the only one online in the county to get the speeds Comcast advertises) and it's more realible.

Don't get me started on Comcast. I had bury our cable line myself because they were too lazy to do it.

Last night I tried to get my address changed. I got passed along on the phone until I got to the billing department, who told me that I had to contact a specific person. I called them last night - and they had NO IDEA what I was talking about. So I got completely owned :[ Oh well, I'll be calling their help line today.
 
Oh damn that sucks. Just keep us posted and we'll see you when you get back. :D And once again, go have some fun! :D

Anyway yeah, customer support sucks because half the time they don't know what you're talking about. lol. :p
 
Sheesh. Lazy Americans...
Though, those older buildings can be pretty tricky to completely wire.
That's why our campus has a plan to provide wireless coverage to the
campus over the next 4 or so years.

Hmm, someone on my LiveJournal friends list has also been experiencing difficulty with Comcast. And my boyfriend's family's (either Adelphia or Time Warner) wasn't working yesterday.
 
You do realize that Deja allows connections from ports 6667-7000. You can always connect using a different port.
