Reposted, bit updated. Fairly accurate for the next three years. Will be updated as we go (hopefully). Feel free to bring things to my attention (changes, new information about release dates or movies being worked on). Few aren't strictly comic films, but have a long history in comics (Conan, for instance). Where possible, linked to official movie site.

Dredd - 2000AD (or...whoever publishes 2000AD) - September 21, 2012

Amazing Spider-Man 2 - Marvel - May 2, 2014
Guardians of the Galaxy - Marvel - August 1, 2014
Transformers 4 - IDW - Alright, mainly a rumor, but an interesting one nonetheless. And likely, given the money to be made.

Coming EVENTUALLY

Elfquest - Epic/Marvel - in the works
Red Sonja - Dynamite - in the works
Deadpool - Marvel - in the works
Runaways - Marvel - something's happening
Incognito - Marvel/Icon - Fox has picked it up for development
Dr. Strange - Marvel - There are writers.
The Boys - Dynamite - It's coming along.
Bone - Warner Bros. has the rights, Jeff Smith's seen early animation work.
Suicide Squad - DC - And there's a video game, too.
Nemesis - Marvel/Icon - Tony Scott's directing\

I haven't even seen this movie, and I already think Hit Girl is the most awesome superhero in geekdom.

EDIT: Saw the movie on Saturday and it was EFFING AWESOME!! Blew the ever-loving shit out of the comic book.

You should list The Flash as a possibility. I seem to remember that whatever studio has rights to the character hired Greg Berlanti to write the script and possibly direct.

I'm excited for a lot of these movies (like GL) but I'm mostly focused on Mr. Stark's movie coming out next week. I'm wondering if this movie can live up to the awesomeness of the first. Granted, he does have the suit in the briefcase thing going for him (and I'll bet he made it in a CAVE, with a box of SCRAPS!)

Jonah Hex sounds cool. Can't wait for that one.

And I hope Ryan Reynolds get's more Deadpoolish in the actual Deadpool movie.

Re: Comic Movie Releases V.2 / Next Release: Iron Man 2 - May 7

Unfortunately, Jonah Hex has some REALLY BAD negative buzz. To make a long story short, they hired a director whose previous experience was only in animation, and he wasn't really able to keep costs down or keep control of the production, so they basically replaced him, and drastically reworked the film, ordering reshoots, rewrites, and such. And, well, there's been a disturbing lack of promotional material. It SHOULD have at least a teaser trailer out by now, but nope, nothing. Be prepared for this to suck eggs.

But how old is that? Last word I heard was a few years back (or...whenever the JLA movie rumors were floating around). Did I miss something more recent?

I see you have the next X-Men in your post under the "Eventually" section. It's currently scheduled for a summer 2011 release, they're working fast and hard to get that one out.

I haven't heard ANYTHING by way of release date. Nothing that's not speculation, anyway.

Huh...I missed one... Noooooooooooo! Thanks for letting me know, guys.

Re: Comic Movie Releases V.2 / Next Release: Iron Man 2 - May 7

Since Iron Man 2 is already out, shouldn't this thread be updated?

Re: Comic Movie Releases V.2 / Next Release: Iron Man 2 - May 7

It gets updated when I feel like updating it. Since there's plenty of breathing room between Iron Man 2 and Jonah Hex...I'm not in a hurry.

Re: Comic Movie Releases V.2 / Next Release: Jonah Hex - June 18

I have no hopes for Jonah Hex to be good, The comic wasnt that great for all the decades its been around and having Meagan Fox in your movie is a recipe for disaster

Re: Comic Movie Releases V.2 / Next Release: Scott Pilgrim vs. The World - August 13

Thanks for the heads up. Don't know WHY I kept forgetting to add Red and Cowboys and Aliens. Knew there were plans for the Boys, but wasn't paying much attention.

And, yeah, I know about Men in Black III. I'm still debating whether or not I want to add it to the list. The original WAS based on a comic, but neither of the sequels are (at least not that I'm aware of).

In that case, shouldn't TF3 be removed from the list? None of the movies are based on IDW's comics, are they?

Re: Comic Movie Releases V.2 / Next Release: Scott Pilgrim vs. The World - August 13

Well, with Transformers, there's at least stuff being published on a regular basis. I'm honestly not aware of ANY MIB comics since Far Cry (wouldn't be surprised if there was an adaption for the movies). It was definitely, originally, a comic book property, but it hasn't really been one in a while. Tranformers, on the other hand, has almost always been one (except for that period between when the Marvel UK series ended and the Dreamwave series started).

Re: Comic Movie Releases V.2 / Next Release: Green Hornet - January 14, 2011

I'm scratching my head at the Thor trailer. Why would Odin punish Thor for waging war? War was the linchpin of Viking society.
