I have an intersting little idea. You know how the Battle Frontier Saga takes place in kanto. Which of the seasons from zero badges/symbols to one do you think is better, Battle Frontier or the regular Indigo League. Give what you think along with an informed opinion.

I personally liked the Battle Frontier better because Team Rocket got a better, deadly motto. It also helped that the Hoenn League twerps were able to see this region and how things worked there. I also love the nostaliga of the first episode of battle Frontier: The climatic battle between the twerp and Team Rocket, Pikachu horribly electrocuting team Rocket, Team Rocket spying from the ballon, and the debut of a new motto.

I must say, I enjoyed original Kanto over Battle Frontier. While the entire saga was totally out-of-wack with Pokémon nowadays, it's still fun and entertaining to watch purely because of nostalgia.

I wish that Battle Frontier went more into original Kanto places and had a little bit of a more "really going back" feel instead of this "entirely new region" feel that I seemed to of gotten from it (sans a few instances). Am I the only one with that opinion?

Its not really a fair comparison, IMO. Kanto was the start of the anime, whereas Battle Frontier was a continuation of AG.

Both of them are pretty great seasons however. You can't go wrong with watching either.

It's more of a comparision on how the characters behaved then in Kanto and now in Kanto. It's also a comparision on whether or not the nostaligic feel of Kanto was kept in Battle Frontier.

Well if you compare Kanto Ash to Battle Frontier Ash...he's almost completely different.

Kanto Ash was a newbie who constantly made stupid mistakes, who made a fool out of himself on a number of occasions, and he had to be reminded by his friends on how to act and how to battle. He also only won half his badges fairly.

Battle Frontier Ash was an experienced trainer, using what is still his most powerful team yet, and beat Frontier Brains that were said to be stronger than your average Gym leader.

As for the nostlagic element, it didn't exist save for the return to Pewter Gym, Mt. Moon and the Grand Festival taking place at Indigo Plateau. I barely recognized that they were traveling through Kanto, it felt like some island in Hoenn they were in instead, save for the increase in Kanto Pokemon in the wild that we saw.

I agree.

I didn't recognize it as being Kanto either.

I mean, it sure didn't give me the feeling like they were traveling in Kanto, except for what you mentioned, Pewter Gym, Mt. Moon, and the Grand Festival taking place at Indigo Plateau.

Starting with "Fear Factor Phony", that's when all nostalgia from the previous seasons and Kanto was lost.

In my opinion, they lost every bit of nostalgia when they replaced the original VAs.

I mean, watching Battle Frontier didn't remind me of anything old or classic (even though it was set in Kanto). In fact, all that season did was make me think of the Pokemon dub as being something completely new. And I hated that feeling.
