Do partial effort points stack? Say you only have 3 out of 4 Speed EV points gained before you level up. Is it 'reset' on the next level, or can you add another 1 Speed EV and it will count when you next level up?

I'm a little confused on what you are asking... You say three out of 4 speed evs, what do you mean here?

I'll say this as I'm not to sure what you mean, Zubat normaly gives one speed ev when you KO it. So say we are fighting Zubat, and the pokemon we are using also has pokerus, so we gain double evs. So every Zubat we KO gives us 2 speed evs. If you KO a zubat and level up, you would still get 2 speed evs, (assuming you have pokerus.) So when you level up you still get the same amount of evs you would normally, with or without pokerus and even if you did not level up. I was just using pokerus as an example to work with more than one ev point. At no point am I aware of do you only gain partial evs, even when leveling up, etc.

Hope this helps, but it might not have anything to do with what your asking... xD

...um. They aren't in groups of four. They're in groups of 255. Four's what you need for one stat point more at level 100, with a maximum of 63 stat points (with 252 or more EVs). C'mon, this is Pokémon, not Tetris.

I said groups of 4 because 4 EVs = 1 stat at level 100. 255 is the maximum in one stat, making there be 63 groups of 4 (63 stat points) with three extra points that won't do anything at level 100.

The trainer is wondering what happens if you EV train and you have "leftover EVs", like if you trained and gained 35 EVs before leveling up, 3 of those EVs don't actually count towards anything at level 100. The person is asking, if you level up, and you had those 3 left over, would they just disappear, or are they still there.

The answer is yes. Besides, the stat points given by the EVs are adjusted to the specific level, so even if you trained and have EVs that aren't divisible by 4 by the time you evolve, its still counted.

Thank you very much for your informative explanation, Outrage. I was using the 4 EVs = 1 stat rule. Am I correct in assuming that, say, if you leave you pokemon in Daycare and it gains levels, or use a Rare Candy, those EV points are still unused and will stack next time you level up by battling normally?

Also, if you have EXP share on a Pokemon, does that Pokemon that didn't battle also receive EVs?

Exp. Share shares EVs, as does appearing in battle for ten seconds.

Rare Candy, far as I know, boosts stats just as battle leveling does. Shows the stats after the level so why wouldn't it?

Daycare, I wouldn't know.

The Pokemon's stats are recalculated based on your EVs gained when:

-You level up
-When you deposit them in the PC
-When you save and reset your game
