I'm not sure if this topic has been brought up or not, but if it has, I'm sorry for bringing it up again.

I've been thinking about the concept and possibility of people in the U.S., connecting with Japanese players in order to exchange friend codes.

Personally, I think that if this were possible in any way, I'd really like to do this.

I mean, I've never met or known anyone originally from Japan. So I'd love to have the chance to get to know somebody in Japan through the release of Diamond and Pearl.

Anyway, I was thinking, and I came up with an idea. I think it would be amazing if there was some way for people in the U.S. (and other countries) to exchange friend codes with Japanese players.

Thoughts and opinions on this idea?

Would it be possible for this to happen?

Yeah, you can.

I traded with my Japanese Pearl and my English Diamond, so I'm sure a Friend Code exchange is possible (will try once I get a Pal Pad).

You'll just have to meet them.

Yes, Habunake.

I knew that it was possible to exchange friend codes between the Japanese version of D/P and the American version of D/P. That's not what I was asking though....

Basically, I was asking how people would go about *getting friend codes* from players in Japan, when most people don't even know Japanese or know anyone from Japan personally.

And that's the problem though. Meeting Japanese Pokemon fans. Just how exactly would one go about doing that? Especially if you don't know the language?

And to be more specific, how would people get friend codes from Japanese players? I mean, not everybody knows Japanese, and not everyone in Japan knows English either.

I had an idea that, if there was a Pokemon website/message board made which was centered around Diamond and Pearl Wifi/Friend Codes, it could be bilingual and have something setup where people (both American and Japanese players) could type in their friend codes. Well, that's all people would really need in order to start battling with each other and using the voice chat to communicate.

I could only imagine how fun it might be to actually exchange friend codes with a Japanese player (or a player in some other non-English speaking country). That would give me an amazing feeling!!

Yes, that would be nice. Something on the scale of the Pokémon Mystery Dungeon Rescue Board on Filb.de.

So, Zhen Lin, do you think it would be possible for someone to create that site any time soon?

I think it could be made, and it's definitely a great idea worth looking into. ^_^

It would just take a lot of work, and some very talented people to create the website. I think something like this would have to be a team effort, where multiple Pokemon fan sites may have to work together in order to get something like this to work (and once the site is created, it would need to be known to the Japanese fans as well...).
