Hey Everyone,

Being that the first 5th gen pokemon is likely soon to be revealed
(yes, I believe the mystery pokemon is a 5th gen), I'd like to get into contact with all of the companies related to pokemon's creation. I have numerous ideas and pokemon that I created, and I'd like to (hopefully) see them included in the 5th gen.

That being said, The companies I want to get into contact with are:

Nintendo of Japan,
The Pokemon Company,
Game Freak,
Creatures Inc.
and if possible, these indivuiuals;
Jun'ichi Masuda,
Ken Sugimori,
Satoru Iwata,
Tsunekazu Ishihara
and the big man himself,
Satoshi Tajiri. (What is Tajiri up to lately? I never hear anything about him)

I'm neglecting the American companies becuase I don't think they'll help me get shit done, but if someone thinks I should send my things to them also I will.

So, if anyone possess or can lead me to the contact info for any of those entities I'd greatly appreciate it!!

You serious? EVER SEE the thread like this in HoS?

Yes, but I know that it's possible to contact the companies, I'm not just sending fan-mail, this is something I'm serious about.

I'm pretty sure that some one might have an idea or something, so it doesn't hurt to post and ask.

All, I can see a tiny glimpse of light about where you're coming from here...

Actually, the Pokemon Company has an address, as well as a phone number that you can use to contact them.

While my goal may be unusual, and the odds are probably against me, I see no harm in asking.
People make fakemon that they want in the official games all the time, but they don't send them in because they figure its pointless.

You have not because you ask not.

:D Do you know where I can find that, or can you give it to me?

Nice idea, I can't help you sadly. But good luck with that.

That avatar is wonderful also, by the way.

Doubt you'll get much anywhere, but hey, you could always go looking. I dunno if Sugimori's got a personal site where he'd have his email address prominently displayed, but if you'd go for anything, it'd be him.

Most companies have phone numbers as a front, of sorts. They have no legitimate bureacratic structure or strict and efficient chain-of-command, so it is doubtful that they would be of any help.

It's just to legitimize their existince to show the world that they exist. Would you trust a company that had no way of contacting them?

Doesn't matter. It wasn't a gen. V, anyways.

Well, the way that the company works is that it either has hired artists on the payroll or contracted freelanceers. Those people are hired specifically to design new graphics or for conceptual work. From there, it goes to review and out of all the designs, only a few are accepted.

But point is, companies hire people specifically to design characters- they don't buy designs. They first find the person, then ask for a design, not the other way around. When applying or submitting an application, a potential employee does not submit ideas for the project or company- he or she shows off a portfolio that shows past works.

Also, if you are under 18, then a large company probably wouldn't want to go through the legal stuff required for minors.

I would like to politely and kindly discourage you from pursuing that path, but that is just my suggestion, and if you really have your heart in it, go ahead and try!

I have a customer service number, but it's a US manufacturing branch.

Well, the companies behind Digimon have contests for those every so often (if you remember Dobermon from season 3, that's just one example of a winner), so I don't think it's a legal issue. Just Pokémon doesn't do it is all.

Gosh, I don't think I was old enough to remember anything much.

Aye, and I think that they went through the legal processes in order to secure rights to the design. When a design is created by someone not in the employment of the company, the company must buy rights etc.etc. in order to secure that it will be a legal part of the franchise and okay to sell/distribute. This is harder to do when the seller person in question is a minor. I guess the Digimon people were willing to do it.

Yeah. And I've never heard of Pokemon doing fan contests either.

Didn't gamefreak's site have a place for people to send in their resume and show job openings on their official website? I know they use to in the late '90s, early '00. You can try there. I don't know, how fluent are you in Japanese? I guess you don't have to be in Japan to get contracted for art, but with Pokemon they'd probably want you to live there and work with them one on one and not have to pay for a translator.

I don't think it's very easy to get jobs like that in Japan for anyone, it's probably very high profile. Sorry Daisuke, I can't remember how well you draw, but hopefully it is the level around the really good fan art you see on Deviant Art and PokeAni. That'd probably help a lot. (And being flexible in the artstyle)

I'm not going to tell you to give up on your dream, you seem very passionate and I believe in that, but I wouldn't put a quick time limit on such a difficult thing as this. (by trying to making your pokemon be considered by gen 5. Most Gen 5 concepts can already be done by now as far as we know)but, Good Luck!

I've posted art here (look in the spoiler tags), and my deviant art is here.

I'm not really trying to get a "job" with them per-say, designing pokemon would be a cool career, but thats not my life goal.

There's some pokemon concepts that aren't yet official pokemon and I feel that they should be.
I'm not really trying to get paid (though that would be nice) I just want these pokemon to be official, usable pokemon.

As far as my Japanese goes, I'm not fluent, however, I know enough that if I transcribe from hiragana to romaji I can approximate a meaning, but I'm not fluent and I can't read kanji.

The Game Freak website looks like it might have some sort of contact information, but I can't read it, so I'm not sure. D:

Probably the only way you are going to be able to submit and idea would be through working there. Maybe you can get a temp job... but that probably won't help. I'm not sure how much attention they'd give to a new employee though.

Looking over their website, they do look like they have a place for student interns. I should probably read more of the qualifications though...

It's great though, they still have the place to send in resume's. Here is for the graphics designer(and portfolio tips), unfortunately, from what I've heard it's not the easiest thing for foreigners to get jobs in Japan, but you might be able to get away with not knowing much Japanese writing as long as you speak and understand it well enough and have means to quickly look-up the Kanji.

The only reason why I say you'd have to get a job is because Nintendo as a whole has a policy about not officially accepting ideas from fans what-so-ever, due to the legal issues of even accepting things for free. I also don't think the games industry is something you can casually get into, not anymore at least (outside of maybe a tester), it requires a lot of work and effort. I suggest going to college right out of HS and work very hard (you know, probably take your art and science courses, Japanese, try to study above and beyond the curriculum), then maybe try to get an internship or something after. It's a lot of work, but good luck, maybe you might get your chance for a few of your monsters to be seen in Gen 7 or something!

(To be honest, it's extremely lucky for game companies to be accepting applications so welcome, I don't remember seeing that much.)

More than likely, but that doesn't (in and of itself) make anyone a recluse, especially not from the internet (now where would I be then?).

Being reclusive isn't the same thing as being a recluse. And someone w/ Asperger's generally avoids social interaction--which would explain why he doesn't draw attention to himself.

Or maybe he just really values his privacy.

That's none of your business. Stop talking about this, it's irrelevant.

How isn't it my business? He's a public figure--he has basically absolved his right to not be talked about.

It's not like I'm making up lies about the guy. Journalists and Nintendo officials have documented and corroborated this.

Do any of you even know what Asperger's is? You make it out like I'm spreading slanderous lies about the guy--at the same time suggesting that Asperger's or social awkwardness is something that is shameful.

I personally NEVER even considered this as a disease.

There's some pokemon concepts that aren't yet official pokemon and I feel that they should be.

This would probably be a good topic of discussion if it hasn't been started already.

But humor us--what concepts do you have stored away in your head that you feel would be a good addition to the franchise?

Given that I stated that I *have* it in the reply you just quoted, I would say that at least one of us knows.

I don't see anyone considering it "shameful", only saying that what you specified doesn't diagnose anyone.

Although I *am* interested in hearing the OP's ideas.
