I been thinkin for a while now that maybe the fall in sales of pokemon is because they don't appeal to girly girls. No offence in my opinion making your little pokemon fight and try to hurt others don't really appeal to them.

I think that right at the start of the game you should get the choice out of The Gym path or Contest path.

Because you could still have rivals e.g Drew and May , Kenny and Dawn.
Also you could have a champion contest person E.G Joanna Dawn mother

This is only my opinion

Plz comment on wheter you think this is bad or good

I know it would appeal to me, being able to use moves together to create something new and spectacular... Not being limited by the same old moves. Being able to use pokemon in exciting new ways.

The problem with it would be in the production though... it would require much more data space and complex coding and wouldn't be able to be a portable game until the increase the capacity is increased at least 20 fold...

That's true. And people can already choose to be a coordinator in their RSE and DPPt games, even if there isn't a real rival for them. It just won't be official.

well... you'd think that they would make a side game or something about choosing the life of a coordinator...
but if they would, how good will it actually be... =\

But like in the anime there is a grand festival and stuff like that why don't they put that some where into the game

A Pokemon contest game? I don't think that's going to work. Remember that the main thing about Pokemon is the battles (they have battles in Contests too, right?).

Only in the anime. In the games its just... boring. I would enjoy them more if I had to make it past the appeal round and then beat the pulp out of the trainers in the next round like in the anime.

Ditto that. And it has to be as long as the gym path. Otherwise everyone would choose to be male, because you would get a better game out of it.

ew god no, don't make it gender-linked. I want to be a girl and not have to do stupid contests. >T Not to mention that would step real close to making the games sexist, saying boys are pokemon champions and girls are coordinators. >T

I don't think it should be a defined choice, but more of what you want to do and that you can do both, though maybe not at the same time. Something like your parents in the game tell you about both paths and within the first town is the start of contests and gyms. Have the paths split, but you can still participate in both if you want to.

However, pokemon is really aimed more at BOYS anyways, so it might not really matter. :p
