Welcome to Contest-of-the-Week! Unless you've been living under a rock, you'll know that ORAS has now been released (almost) worldwide! To celebrate we'll be looking at the incredibly powerful new forms of the legendary weather trio.
Every week, we'll still be looking at a few of the many Pokémon you'll meet along your journey through the Hoenn region, and asking for your opinions on them and how they stack up next to their counterparts or rival Pokemon looking to fill the same spot on your team.

The weather trio were already dangerous legendaries to begin with, but in ORAS they can reach even greater levels of power with Groudon and Kyogre's Primal forms and Rayquaza's Mega evolution. In addition the games introduce new signature moves for the trio; Groudon's Precipice Blades, Kyogre's Origin Pulse and Rayquaza's Dragon Ascent.
Primal Groudon not only gains a massive boost it's offensive and defensive stats stats, but also gains the Fire type to capitalise on its self generated sun even more. The added weakness to water is vaporised thanks to its Desolate Land ability, which summons sunlight so intense that it not only cannot be dispelled, but also causes Water type moves to fail.
Primal Kyogre also gains a similar stat boost to Groudon, and likewise its Primordial Sea summons heavy rain that cannot be overwritten. This means its new Origin Pulse attack will always hit extremely hard, to say nothing of its feared Water Spout.
Mega Rayquaza gains a significant increase to its offensive stats and speed, letting it hit hard and fast on both sides of the offensive spectrum. It's Delta Stream ability introduces a new weather condition unique to Rayquaza, that nullifies all other weathers and cancels out the weaknesses of Flying types. So now it'll take much more than just an Ice Beam to put down Mega Rayquaza
Which of these massively powerful legendaries do you like best, and why?
-Which has the best design?
-Which has the best ability?
-Which has the best signature move?
-Which is most useful in the competitive environment?
-Which would win in a three way showdown between them?
Let the contest begin!
