Volume Four of Satoshi and Pikachu features a retelling of the Kaina City Pokemon Contest episode. I've attached a scan of what Shuu (Drew) looks like in this manga.
The manga Pocket Monsters RS also has Pippi entering a Pokemon Contest in the first volume. All three judges give Pippi a 0 out of 10.

The anime isn't based on the manga, though, so there's no artistic license to take...
