Does anyone do this, or any other form of dressing up as a characters? (such as fursuits) Just a question, becuase I'm a curious person. :p

I do. :p My profile photo is myself and all.

I do have a CosCom (cosplay.com) account, and that's here.

I do! Though not as often as I'd like. My two finished cosplay costumes are from Maple Story, though I'm pretty sure one is a bit iffy on the fit right now. I've got a White Mage costume in progress that's a mix of the original design and the cloak Garnet wears in FFIX, that's kind of been half finished since I missed my Halloween deadline.

But the only costume I actually have decent pictures of is my pirate costume, which can be found on my DeviantART page: http://joh-wee.deviantart.com/gallery/?11946160#Cosplay

I've also got a huge list of stuff I'd like to cosplay, but I figure one thing at a time.

Cool, nice costumes NyaChan and Joey! I might make a Pokemon fursuit, but they seem really hard to make

You also have to think of the weather for those. Most cons are during the summer, and trust me, you DO NOT want to be wearing one those in the summer heat. I would say aim for a Gijinka instead. :p Much easier to make, as well as you can make it appropriate for the weather.

Though you can wear really warm or really skimpy outfits no matter the weather, if you're new to cosplaying, it's prolly best to think of something you'd be comfortable in the entire day.

... BESIDES L FROM DEATH NOTE OMG. Please, do not add to the hoards of L cosplayers. We don't need another person walking around in a white t-shirt and jeans with messy hair calling themselves L.

yeah, I tend to think big when I'm new to something. And don't worry, I wouldn't be L. :p

I do! I've cosplayed as May and Red and I'm planning to cosplay as the girl trainer from black/white (who's name escapes me.. Touko?) for anime boston.

I do everytime I go to a Convention. I was a Furret Gijinka once, and now I'm cosplaying Miltank alot.

My Miltank cosplay gets really hot really fast though :p

I have a Leaf cosplay of sorts and my friend wants me to be the Officer Jenny to her Nurse Joy, but I'll probably cosplay Touko next time I get a chance because aside from having green eyes rather than blue, she is pretty much -the- Pokemon version of me, a little like how I tend to look like irl-Leaf with my hair straightened into tidiness. ='D Vulpix is like my me-mon, so I'll probably attempt a gijinka at some point.

As for non-Pokemons, my first ever cosplay was Yuuki from the series Vampire Knight. After that, I cosplayed Ninon Beart of the King of Fighters series; my friend and her mother teamed up to make me the most breathtakingly accurate dress and wherever I wear it I get compliments, even from those who know nothing of Ninon herself. After that I tended to stick with cosplaying Hungary from Hetalia. I've also cosplayed Seychelles and fem-Spain from the same series and my next up are Monaco and Haruhi Suzumiya (perhaps the most suited character for a cosplay I've been told to attempt). I tend to cosplay characters who suit either my personality or my fundamental appearance - preferably both - as this helps me to create a much more accurate portrayal with greater ease.

I don't have huge numbers of cosplays ready; I'm a pretty big self-confessed cosplay snob and very much a perfectionist anyway, so I much prefer spending months of sewing and crafting and huge amounts of money if necessary perfecting a single cosplay I'm devoted to above having a different one for each con day. There's nothing more irritating to me than seeing people walking about in horribly inaccurate cosplays and being utterly out of character all day, unless they've really made the effort. Equally, I don't like bought cosplays - I just think they provide undue credit and undermine the effort some people put into creating equally accurate outfits. But if someone is totally unable to even try, I don't think buying is much to be ashamed of. I'd rather see someone who bought it all looking accurate than someone who insisted on making it but went horribly wrong. "OTL

Buh, I look really mean now. Don't get me wrong, I'd encourage anyone to try cosplaying however they're comfortable. I just think people take it too much as "oh look at me I'm so-and-so but not really, only when I feel like it" when, to me, cosplaying almost creates a duty to live up to the character you're trying to be. The most impressive cosplayers I know are not the ones with the most time or money; they're the ones who are so in character it's almost creepy. That's what makes cosplaying exciting for me.

My friend invited me to this cosplay meet but I didn't cosplay cos I didn't have a costume and they're well expensive :( But next time I go I'm buying nine quid Pikachu ears - easiest/cheapest cosplay ever and I don't have to look like a complete retard! =D

I haven't done it much. I did cosplay as Emerald May last Halloween. :)

I did my first cosplay two years ago. It was Toph from Avatar: the Last Airbender. My mom made it, and my other two costumes for me. <3 I wore it when my friends and I had a party for the Avatar finale.

Me second one was Tomoyo Daidouji from CardCaptor Sakura, the summer uniform. I had a black mini skirt and my mom had to make the top. I found the perfect red headband in a local store. I wore it for Otakon 2008.

My third, and most recent one was Kiki from Kiki's Delivery Service. Since it's my most recent one, I haven't had a chance for a photo shoot with my friends yet. I did wear it to a small Halloween party with my friends, though. I had to borrow a broom, and lacked a black cat, but it happens. : )

If this counts, I once went out for Halloween as Mega Man...maybe not.

The closest I've gotten to actually cosplaying was probably the time I put on a hat, dad's biking gloves, and held a little rubber ball in the air like a pokeball. I was like..6.

cosplayed as Gakupoid from this song :3
and i've cosplayed in a winter sailor uniform :D
planning to cosplay as Wy from Hetalia at the next expo in London if i go X3

If I ever cosplay, it will first have to be as a Garchomp :D

Just like Hikaru from Generation 2021 or Cynthia from The Life of the Legendaries.

... I saw a fanart of Cynthia cosplaying once... it was creepy.

I'm an actor, so I'd love to cosplay sometime. If I actually ever made it to a con.

...

Here's hoping for 2012!

I'm trying to cosplay for fun as Lucario. The farthest I've got is making a hat. Now all I need is a yellow tank top and a pair of dark blue athletic shorts.

Oh yes, and 2 pairs of black kneesocks for my hands and feet.

PS: Woah, a lot of people here had some pretty good anime cosplays!!! :)
