Could Sinnoh go on longer than 200 episodes?

How long will Sinnoh last?

We have current titles up to DP150 and...Ash still only has 7 badges.

We still have the Galactic finale eps, Dawn's last contest, Ash's last badge, the Grand Festival, Sinnoh league, and whatever fillers they throw inbetween which could easily take up the next 50 episodes.

Does anyone think Sinnoh could go on for more than 200 episodes? This is not even counting the Stark Mountain visit, any Frontier Brains, or Elite 4. What do you think will happen?
 
At first I thought it'd end by 180-190 but now... I don't know
It's almost impossible to predict what they'll do... they can all of a sudden speed up or throw a ton of "fillers"
I still insist BF on a little island AND E4 can NOT fill the wait for next gen, even if Sinnoh alone will only get done at 200 or a little more
I really think it's possible we'll get a new anime-only place like the Orange Islands or at least made up leaders/brains-like characters put in Johto
 
Yeah, we're already at around 150 episodes and we haven't even gotten to the league itself yet.
I think it will end over 200 episodes, even more so than Advanced Generation but not at the level of the original series. Sinnoh will be the longest of the story arcs, however.
Ash and Dawn still need to win their last badge and ribbon, respectively. Also, they really want Jessalina to be in the Grand Festival if she already won three ribbons. So they can either make her win the last two very quickly like her second or have another contest where she mops the floor from Dawn.
 
I think it's much more likely they want Dawn VS Jessie in the final Contest, rather than Jessie in GF
 
I must admitt I am dissapointed of how things turned now. First they rushed things in between 3rd to 7th Gym just to put bunch of random fillers in between 7th and 8th Gym? That's not very vise. I can understand these Johto propaganda fillers, but I see no point in episodes like Dwn vs. Johanna etc. I was very pissed when I learned Suiren Contest wasn't Dawn's last. I hate this current Johto like strechening. But even with all these unneeded fillers, I still don't see Sinnoh to last for more then 200 episodes, because that would have get us after Movie 13, and I doubt they will release Movie 13 before or between League Tournament and I think they'll start to rush things again to end it 'till summer.
 
Yeah as said movie 13 is the main stopper. I wonder if they would be in Johto or elsewhere when it happens...
 
I was having this discussion with someone yesterday, and I came to the same conclusion, although I did not tag a specific number to it. Just that Sinnoh is lasting longer than any region to date. It is even clear that it is going to last longer than Johto, which is currently the longest lasting region. Yes, I know AG lasted for 190 something eps, but some of that is the Battle Frontier, and should not be included in the Hoenn run. I found that Sinnoh has already run longer than Hoenn did. Do I think DP as a whole could outlast AG as a whole? We still have a ways to go before it can even hope to take that claim. It is still possible for them to wrap up this region before then, but they would have to take the pacing a lot faster than it currently is. I still wonder why all this filler is between the 7th and 8th gyms. Tomorrow, we reach Snowpoint in the dub, that is how much the series has been dawdling. Not that I can complain, as some of that filler has been pretty decent.
 
Yes, and there's bound to be a gap of eps between Sunyshore, the last contest, then the GF, and then the actual league. I can see each of those events separated by at least 2-3 episodes.

As for Sunyshore, we may even spend 3-4 episodes there considering Flint is bound to show up there too.

We may still be in Sinnoh by the time Movie 13 comes out...
 
Yeah, sure, like they ever allow the Movie being during League Tourmanemt or between Grand Festival and League. I still honestly doubt we will not be at least after GF in summer, though I still jmore tend to think Sinnoh will be ended before summer. As Movie 8 was first movie for Kanto BF, I am sure Movie 13 will be first movie for next filler saga. They obviously rushed the end of Hoenn to did it in time before Movie 8's Japanese premiere and I am almost sure they will repeat this now. Though they couldn't doing so, if they just skip all these stupid fillers and simply goes straight to 8th Gym, last Ribbon, GF and League, but that's beyond my influence, so if writers feel this is better then put these fillers into next filler saga, where they will have many place and time for it, it's their decision.

The 13th movie could be before the league. There's only 4 new episodes each month most of the time, and we may not even hit Sunyshore until December.

Or it could be right after the league ends, but right before whatever the next journey is. We could be spending a long time in Sinnoh yet, considering its been like 20 episodes since the Snowpoint Gym battle and there's still no sign of Sunyshore till at least December.

Scott I still hope you are wrong with Sunyshore not being before December, but even if Sunyshore would be at the end of December (which is highly unlikely), I can see after that they will stop these annoying strechening and seeing how Galactic plot will most likely be ended already and assuming Dawn will already have her last Ribbon, there will be nothing to prevent them to go straight to Grand Festival (3-5 episodes, hopefully more this time) and League (6-8 episodes). Assuming about 6 episodes for fillers in between 8th Gym, GF and League. So if most, we'll have 19 episodes after 8th Gym which will get us somewhere into May. Don't see realisticaly how they can strechen it for more without made wievers sick of it. Remember Johto, do you? I don't know about you, but I don't want the end of Sinnoh being like Johto, full of stupid fillers just because writers can't come with better idea how to fill the time.

I doubt most of the target audience care about "fillers"
And actually, I don't care about them either and I often like them over plot related eps...
It doesn't really matter how many eps Sinnoh will be... even if it gets to the 200 or a little longer, they'll still need another saga to fill the time
 
It’s possible that we can have a Pokémon Saga that lasts that long, but I’m sure the Sinnoh arc will wrap-up before then.
 
I think all three options are completely reasonable. There will probably be about 200 episodes, give or take. If anything, I think it'll lean towards being fewer, but not by much.
 
I voted for Over 200 episodes, if only things like the aftermath of the Sinnoh Conference and Grand Festival count towards that tally. Maybe throw in Stark Mountain and the Sinnoh Brains as well, it does mostly depend on when we're getting Gen V, and I don't have a clue when that is except for the idea that it will be on Nintendo's next handheld.
 
I'd think Sinnoh can definately go for longer than 200 episodes easily. The writers are taking thier time here.
 
I'd have to agree that Stark Mountain would probably happen prior to the leagues, most likely to do some training there. They can also give Buck and Heatran a few eps there.
 
I think the idea of the Sinnoh Saga lasting over 200 episodes is improbable. While, the Diamond & Pearl series itself may last well over 200 episodes, Sinnoh itself will end well under that benchmark.

I did some math, and what I came up with as a probable scenario with the following events:

Event 1: The Team Galactic story line concludes with an epic 3-part episode from DP152 to DP154.

Event 2: Ash wins his final Badge in DP157.

Event 3: Dawn wins her final Ribbon in DP162.

Note: It is just as likely that Events 2 and 3 will happen in reverse order.

Event 4: The grand festival will be held from DP166 to DP169.

Event 5: The Sinnoh League take place from DP173 to DP181, with DP 173 being opening ceremonies.

Then finally, the next two episodes will be a transition into the Johto region. So altogether, the Sinnoh Saga should last about 183 episodes.

I don't know that it will happen just as I predicted, but I think I'm pretty close.
