To me yes, I feel like they should had start the arc during the 2nd half of XY after the 6th gym starting with Ash and Frogadier eyes glowing red and becoming stronger during battle.

I think they did it just fine, only they closed it poorly. The way the hinted at it was great, and the way they handled the development of the true power of Battle Bond was good. It didn’t feel too rushed to me. Never getting to beat that OP Mega Charizard X and suddenly being the key to ending a problem that Zygarde already ended was just a bad way to end Ash-Greninja’s arc I feel.

Same the end of the arc was the worst part for me and having Greninja leave Ash sucked as well.

I think it was satisfying for what it was, I would have given more time to Squishy because the really needed it. But now that you ask...

-Ash should've won against Alain in BW116.
-Ash passing out would've seen as dangerous and it would have been taken seriously. It wouldn't have been magically gone.
-We would see some things from Greninja's point of view, and he would learn to trust Ash.
-The Wulfric rematch would have had elements from the first battle.

Only thing I wish they could've done was gone more in-depth with the Bond Phenomenon. There was potential for other Pokemon to use it too.

I'm not sure if other Pokemon would be able to nor would I like to see them have it. The Bond Phenomenon is meant to be from a Ninja legend and it is meant to be specific to Greninja (I mean I'm glad it is not a <trainer> and a Pikachu legend like in the Lucario and Mew film and the Spiritomb episode in DP - where are the Lombre deity episodes like that one episode in Hoenn? :(). I think it would become too repetitive and too many Pokemon would have the limelight if there were multiple Pokemon that had it. Personally, I think Ash-Greninja was rushed and Greninja just took too much limelight and the writers simply forgot about Ash's Pokemon. I liked Kalos and the end was anti-climatic for me. The end was good, story- and development-wise, but the writers just focused on Greninja too much. A real shame.

I can see your point do you think it would better if the arc was more space out and started after the 6th gym?

I think that the arc should be spread out more and not rushed yes but I would also like to mention that Ash's other Pokemon should've got some attention to. I really enjoyed the spaced out Ninja Village storyline but it could've come much sooner instead of the big gaps so it could flow better and therefore it wouldn't feel rushed.

I think there is nothing wrong with it. It was neither rushed, nor too long; League lost is not a part of that arc anyway, and a tearful and memorable good bye is better than leaving a pokemon unceremoniously at Oak's Lab/TR HQ.

If Ash-Greninja had to leave then have it be a temp leave and at some point during SM have him come back and do something cool like have him help out with Necrozma and after that have him go back to Oaks lab to meet up with the other Kalos mons and everyone else.

As much as I love Ash-Greninja and want that to happen, I don't think it's all that likely...

Agreed, Greninja is a 'lone wolf' right now so it wouldn't make sense but it could happen.
