I recently found my old Cyrstal Version. I dug out my trusty ole' GBA SP popped the game in.

I turned it on to find that my old save file had been deleted. No surprise there, the internal battery had obviously run out. So I started a new game and went through the whole Oak speech and was on my way.

Here's where it gets strange:
*Some of the attack images are missing. The animations are there but the sprites itself are totaly black.

*The map images is also gone and replaced by blackness.

*When I go up to the second floor of the pokecenter, if I talk to the guy at the first counter, he gives me random items. Usually its either Teru-sama(which can be sold for like 20k) or a TM (always the same one but I forget which). However, in Violet City, he gave me a squirt bottle(which is usuable) leading me to think that the items given may have something to do with the location of the Pokecenter

*The game spontaniously freezes for no apparent reason.

As you can see, my Crystal is quite uh, 'special'. I have never used any cheating devices so I have no idea why this has happened. Any ideas?

Is it ever possible for index numbers to accidentally become scrambled whenever something externally endangering happens? Did anything happen to your Crystal before?

nice crystal :) , sounds like it may have been damaged (hit, pounded, etc) it still sounds usable as long as you save very often.

As far I know, nothing too bad has happened to it (other than the ocasional dropping).

I would like to play it to keep busy until HG and SS come out but it won't hold a save at all. I would just keep it on all the time with the SP plugged in but it just randomly freezes.
