What is the creepiest building you've seen? It can be a building you saw personally or one in a picture. It can be an old building or a new building, in use or abandoned.

This is one building that really creeps me out for some reason. Technically, it's only part of a building - it's the ruined tower of an old Catholic church in India - it was built by Portuguese missionaries. The tower and the other building next to it were once part of one big building.

I swear, this tower gives me the creeps. I first saw it five years ago when my friend Ashley showed me pictures from his trip to India the year before. (The picture I'm showing is not his, but a picture I found on Google Images.) He thought it was cool, but seriously, there's only half a tower, and it's half a tower the hard way! I feel like it's going to collapse one day. Not to mention the plant growing on the fourth floor. Ashley thinks I'm weird for finding it creepy.

What buildings really creep you out? Pictures are encouraged!

The Maunsell Forts that were build to help defend the UK in WWII, they were decommissioned in the 1950's and used for other stuff like pirate radio broadcasting. Something about the way they look now sends shivers down my spine, all rusted and abandoned.

Here is a pic of them in active service:

Here they are now:

Holbeche House on a thunderstormy afternoon is pretty atmospheric. It's the site where many of the Gunpowder Plot conspirators were killed or captured, now a private nursing home. I was there with a friend who was applying for a job. Put it this way. Imagine a stereotypical old English mansion, red brick, lion statues at the bottom of the drive, ivy, all that sort of thing. Now add humid air and put thunderclouds above it so dark that the middle of the afternoon is as gloomy as the evening. That was Holbeche that day

Old, small dentist building. Nature had reclaimed most of it. The old densit chair still there. False teeth laying around. The creepiest part tho was the posters of children smiling back at you, faded and mouldy.

I don't think I am doing the place justice with my description.

Other place is my mums work, Its an old castle that she swears is haunted (do I believe in that? IDK). It now houses the clinically insane, alcoholics that cant look after themselves and a murderer or two.

While not exactly creepy.. the leaning tower of pisa freaks me out because I'd be sooo scared to walk in there..

and OP, the building you posted seriously gives me the creeps. xD I've never seen a building that eerie looking before.

Out east from here, there's a town called Amityville and it's famous for its Amityville House Horror. It is the center of a haunted house story especially because of a murder that happened in the 70's. Creepy enough yet? I've been in a nearby area, but I haven't actually gone to the town (or to see the house since it's probably someone else's residence) but here's a picture of the house from Google.

Oh and another thing was the Tenement Museum in Manhattan. That place gave me goosebumps because the rooms and items were kept exactly how they were from the late 1800's. To see the rooms where people who are long gone once lived is just plain creepy. Didn't get to take pictures myself, so here's one from Google.

@Freesia My dad has been to Pisa when he was a college student studying in Italy and he told me that the building was a scary climb because there were no guard rails to visit the top. It was just stairs and nothing protecting you from falling. I am not sure what it's like now as that was over 40 years ago, but I would never climb it if there were no rails!

While not exactly the scariest, I was looking at pictures of the church they used in the background of The Godfather I and II. It's located in Forza d'Agrò, Sicily and while it's not creepy when the sun's out, there were some photos taken of it that give off a creepy vibe, especially when the weather is overcast or the photographer darkened the image for lord knows what reason.

Here's one of those pictures:

@Chibster the Amityville case is definitely a weird one for sure, the movie doesn't help either. Ronald DeFero Jr. definitely had problems and claiming weird reasons as to why he had killed his family with a .35 Marlin rifle; claiming it was a mob hit man, then saying his family was plotting against him, voices telling him to commit the murder, etc. Also the house looks so intimidating, looking like a face somewhat.

The inside is even creepier:

There are more but I can't show for obvious reasons, but I believe the house to be haunted. I know where I'm not going to visit if I ever go to Long Island.

The New World Mall in Bangkok flooded with rainwater after a fire destroyed its roof, and local people introduced fish to cut down the huge mosquito population that resulted. Now it's full of fish instead of mosquitoes. It's kind of eerie to see a huge building like that overtaken by nature.

@Sunsette man, that is hilariously bizarre. I wanna go there ^o__o^;;

As for me, I don't know the name of the building nor do I have a picture, but I remember this building clearly from when I was growing up. My country went through a 12-year civil war from 1980 to 1992, and even in 1992 you didn't really see many signs from the war in the city, but this one building will always stand out in my mind. It was this huge building surrounded by normal city, but this building was bombed to hell, with pieces missing from the wall and roof. It's just bizarre to have normal city all around and then just one big bombed out building. The image of that building will probably never leave my mind.

Apparently you actually can visit, and the people who live in the area try to maintain it and protect the wildlife that live there now. I've been told it's actually very peaceful in the parts of the building you can enter.
