Epic Battle Event: Legendary Gauntlet No. 12
3 powerful opponents arrive in Pokémon Masters EX with the return of the Legendary Gauntlet. Functioning the same as past Legendary Gauntlets, players will use the sync pairs they have raised to battle through Cresselia, Azelf, and Uxie's Legendary Arena battles in succession.
As usual, Players can use as many sync pairs as needed to complete these stages and rack up as many wins as possible. Once a sync pair has been taken into battle, however, they can't be used again regardless of the battle's outcome. Players can earn a variety of rewards by hitting certain win streak milestones, including Battle Points, Move Candy Coins, Guaranteed Lucky Cookie 1 (teaching the Head Start 1 Lucky Skill), and 1★-3★ Deluxe Lucky Cookies. As is now standard for the Legendary Gauntlet, Special Titles have also been added to Prestige Rewards for this Epic Battle Event. The titles obtained from each Legendary Gauntlet will only be available for that specific gauntlet, and will not be able to be acquired in future events.
- Cresselia is weak to Dark-type moves. While on its first HP bar, Cresselia will boost its stats with Double Team and Calm Mind, and use Special Damage Reduction and its Brain Barrier 8 passive skill to reduce special damage; on harder difficulties, it will use its Go Viral 9 passive skill to allow its Thunder Wave to paralyze the player's entire team. On its second HP bar, it will switch to using Physical Damage Reduction and its Brawn Barrier 8 passive skill to reduce physical damage, and it will also add Stat Reduction Defense to its side of the field; on harder difficulties, it will use its Go Viral 9 passive skill to allow its Toxic to badly poison the player's entire team, and on Very Hard, it will gradually heal itself. On its third HP bar, Cresselia will continue its Physical Damage Reduction and Stat Reduction Defense, and it will add Status Move Defense and Status Condition Defense to its side of the field. After the first and second bars are depleted, Cresselia will use the Sure Hit Next and Critical Hit Next effects together with moves that damage the player's whole party. This is the first time Cresselia has returned to the Legendary Gauntlet since their debut in Legendary Gauntlet No. 6 in April last year.
- Azelf is weak to Bug-type moves. Azelf also has passive skills that greatly reduce physical damage it takes during the first 50% of each HP bar and special damage during the second 50%, with these extending to sync moves while on Azelf's third bar. On the very hard difficulty and while the third HP bar, Azelf will have the Piercing Gaze passive skill which allows its moves to always hit. Azelf last appeared in the Legendary Gauntlet No. 6, held in April last year.
- Uxie is weak to Ghost-type moves. While on its first HP bar, the Healthy Advantage passive skill reduces damage while Uxie is unaffected by status conditions; on the second bar, the Acute Senses passive skill reduces damage unless Uxie is affected by status changes (e.g., flinching or restrained); and both passive skills take affect when Uxie is on its third HP bar. Additionally, passive skills increase Uxie's resistance to a status condition or interference condition (flinching, confusion, or trapped) each time it recovers from one, until it becomes immune. On Very Hard difficulty, Uxie will also apply Special Damage Reduction to its side of the field while on its first bar and Physical Damage Reduction while on its third bar. Uxie last appeared in Legendary Gauntlet No. 7 in June last year.
Players should also note the following when playing this event:
- To participate, players must have completed Main Story Chapter 1: The More the Merrier (Normal) in single-player.
- Area info completion data will not be carried over the next time this event returns.
- The sync pairs that appear as opponents in battle have different capabilities than those players can actually obtain.
- It may take some time for rankings to be updated, meaning the in-game rankings may not reflect the most recent results.
- Battles finished after the event period ends may not be reflected in the rankings.
In this one-time-only 5★-Select Type Scout, players can spend 3,000 paid gems to receive an ×11 Scout, as well as an additional bonus selection of a 5★ Sync Pair from a pool which includes a wide variety of Fair-Exclusive Sync Pairs. This scout will be available through to April 19th at 10:59pm (PDT).
A set of 3 missions have now been added to the Masked Royal's Eternal Chill Ultimate Battle, awarding ×100 gems each on completion.
These missions are a permanent addition to the game, and have no deadline for completion.
