Cresselia won't ever get her own battle music?

I've noticed that Cresselia seems to be the only legendary that doesn't have a unique battle theme. How come she doesn't ever have her own music like the others? In both DPPt and B2W2 so far, she's only been given the generic wild Pokemon battle theme.

Did the composer(s) just get too exhausted or something? xP

Do you think Cresselia should start getting her own battle theme? I do, because I think a majestic, yet suspenseful song would be really awesome and fit her perfectly.

Darkrai shared its theme with Regigigas and Heatran. But Latias and Latios do fit the fill, as does Celebi (which was only catchable in Crystal, where only the legendary beasts had a unique theme).

Agreed. I find it more lamentable that Mewtwo only got a remix of the normal wild theme (the same one used for the bird trio), and only in FRLG at that.

They're event Pokemon, you don't battle them.

That is true. I don't personally regard that as their "own" theme though if its shared but that's just me.

You do battle them if you have the Member Card and Oak's Letter respectively (which were released).

Either way Silktree has provided more examples or arguably more important and focused on legendaries. Cresselia is at the bottom of the pile of legendaries needing their own music in my opinion.

It doesn't deserve its own battle music. It's nothing but an annoying hulk of a Psychic type that was used on probably 75% of VGC teams last year. And it's not that special compared to the rest of the Sinnoh legends.

Just because you think she's annoying doesn't mean she doesn't deserve her own music. I like Cresselia a lot, personally, even down to her design. Also, apparently no one saw my previous post.

I think they should just given them the "minor legendary" theme. At least for Cresselia and Darkrai and whoever, it makes no sense they weren't given that theme that existed in DP.

For the Lati@s... Hoenn didn't actually have a "minor legendary" theme, instead one specific to the golems, other to the world trio, and other to Deoxys.
Personally, I think the unused Johto legendary remix would've worked perfectly for them.

It's a real shame the Kanto legendary pokémon only have a remix of the wild theme. Specially considering nothing stopped GF from giving Ho-Oh and Lugia new themes later instead of the theme in Crystal, Mewtwo REALLY should've had one in FRLG.


It seems they got it right in Gen V... but with GF being so adamant in keeping pointless legacy, they'll never add themes for old pokémon again unless they somehow are made particularly relevant.

Mewtwo got its own special battle music back in Stadium, why they never re-used it is beyond me though.

I dunno if every single legendary deserves its own battle theme, that seems kind of excessive and time consuming on GameFreak's part. Thats why we have a universal legendary theme every single generation, and I very much like the theme shared by Victini/Swords of Justice/Kami Trio just to give an example.

Only the big time, or maybe most important/relevant legendary Pokemon should get special theme pieces, IMO.

Darkrai was given that theme (if you're referring to the one used for Heatran, Regigigas and Rotom). But it wouldn't have fit Cresselia since there is nothing ominous about her.

So true. Played the downloadable PWTs? All four of the Masters have her, as do two of the Seniors and two of the Juniors. Incidentally, all of the Juniors have Tyranitar, and both Seniors without Cresselia have Latios instead.

Uh, she's exactly as relevant as Darkrai. They are a pair. Probably one of the strongest pairs, as you meet one right after the other.

Not to mention it's not like the birds, the Eon duo, Heatran (pre Pt), Rotom, the genies, and half of the Event-only Pokémon aren't LESS relevant. And three of those got a special theme.

The level of relevancy of both Cresselia and Darkrai is the same: inexistent. The same goes to the bird trio. Any legendary that does not take part in the game's main stories are irrelevant to me. If wondering why Articuno, Zapdos and Moltres did get their own themes, ask Game Freak, I guess.
