Cubone/Kangaskhan connection with Missingno.?

So, I duno if this has been discussed before, but what does everybody have to say about this?

I like the Cubone/Kangaskhan connection, but it's proved that Missingno. is slot 0 in the pokedex. Also, If Kangaskhan was moved to a blank slot, wouldn't it be at the end of the pokedex, being number 152 (or 151, if excluding Mew)? If this happened, then Kangaskhan's old slot (115) would be Missingno.'s Pokedex slot. But it isn't. It's slot 0, the "missing number". (lol pun)
 
Yeah, this is nice and all, but it's not true. Firstly, Missingno and 'M aren't the same thing - Missingno is actually a group of 'filler' Pokemon for unused index numbers in the code (for some reason, the programmers used index numbers of 1-190 despite there only being 151 Pokemon, hence there are gaps in places). 'M is at index number 0, and is also the one that 'evolves' into Kangaskhan, due presumably to Kangaskhan's very low index number (2).

The stated theory doesn't gel with how index numbers are known to work. Even if GF did want Marowak to evolve into Kangaskhan, there's nothing in the game's code that would suggest it.
 
I've actually never heard of this theory until now. I don't know if it's true, but it's given me something to think about, at least.

This is food for though though, because if Marowak evolved into Kangaskan, what would be its's pre-evolution if the Baby never became a Cubone?

I could theorize all night!
