I suppose I'll post some of my old stuff, though probably not some of my really old stuff, as I often made jokes about the site that it appeared on at the time, so they wouldn't make that much sense. Since Halloween is coming up on Friday, this is a Halloween fic I wrote about two years ago. There's another (completely unrelated) Halloween fic that I wrote last year, which I suppose I'll post later.
Curse of the Werecanine
It was a dark and stormy night. But then suddenly everything cleared up and it was merely a partly cloudy night with a full moon. Ash and Co. were eating their supper by the campfire. The area around them darkened a little bit as a cloud blocked off the moonlight.
"Does it seem odd to you that nothing's happening?" Ash asked. "No new Pokemon. No Team Rocket. Just us wandering through this forest.
"So?" Misty asked. "We're used to it, aren't we?"
"But you have to admit," Brock said. "It is pretty boring."
Just then, they heard a howl in the distance. "Tookie tookie!" Togepi curled up in Misty's armed.
"That SOUNDED like an Arcanine…" Brock started. "But I've never heard an Arcanine howl like that before, nor any other Pokemon…"
Then, they heard a sound in the nearby bushes. "I-I don't like the sound of that…" Misty said. Just then, an Arcanine jumped on top of Ash! It knocked him over, and the Arcanine sunk its teeth into Ash's arm. "AAAAAAAAAAAAH!"
Pikachu immediately responded with a Thunderbolt. "PIIIIIIIIIIKAAAAAAACHUUUUUUUUU!!!!"
That startled the Arcanine, and it ran off. Ash looked at his bleeding arm. Thinking quickly, Brock got out some bandages and quickly wrapped up his arm. "We'd better get to a Pokemon Center." Brock said. "You may need more medical attention than just these bandages!"
"Right!" Ash agreed. Brock quickly made a sling for Ash's arm, and they went looking for the nearest Pokemon Center.
After a few minutes of hopeless searching, Brock decided to get out his map. "Now we'll NEVER get anywhere!" Misty exclaimed under her breath.
Then, the area started to get brighter. "Hey!" Brock exclaimed. "The moon must be coming out from behind the clouds! I should be able to read this map better now!"
"Not like that would do that much good…" Ash said.
Misty turned to look at Ash. "AAAAAAAAAAHH!" She jumped back and hid behind a nearby tree. Pikachu and Togepi followed suit.
"What? Have I got a pimple or something?" Ash asked.
Nervously, Misty looked through her backpack. She found what she was looking for and threw it to him. It was a mirror. Ash grabbed the mirror. "Okay, then… Where's this oh-so-scary pimple?" Ash looked in the mirror. "AAAAAAAAAAHH!!!! I've got orange fur all over my face!!" He looked over the rest of his body. "I'VE GOT ORANGE FUR ALL OVER!" He looked down at his hands. His fingernails slowly turned into sharp claws. He looked at his feet. His now-furry toes burst out of the front of his shoes. He looked in the mirror. His teeth became sharp. Suddenly, he fell to the ground in a fetal position.
"A-Ash?" Worried, Misty started to make her way out from behind the tree. Then, she froze in her tracks. Ash began to rise, but the movements weren't… natural… Misty hid back behind the tree.
Strangely, Brock was concentrating on the map so much that he hadn't noticed anything. Ash slowly crept up behind Brock. Ash's shadow completely covered him. "ASH! Go away! You're in my light!" Brock turned around to face the savage, drooling Arcanine-face that was once Ash. "AAAAAAAAAAAAAH!!" Brock ran in Misty's direction. Misty quickly picked up Togepi and ran. Brock followed. Pikachu used Thunder, stunning Ash temporarily, and then followed them. They ran as fast as they could go. Then, after a minute or two, they heard a loud howl. Ash was on his way. Luckily, they found a Pokemon Center and ran inside. "Quick!" Brock yelled. "We need to barricade the doors!"
Nurse Joy yawned and pressed a button in front of her. The doors and windows were all suddenly blocked off by panels of steel. "Not another one…"
"Huh?" Misty asked.
"This kind of thing happens about this time every year." Nurse Joy answered. "Someone gets bitten my an Arcanine and turns into a Werecanine. A rather monotonous time of year, if you ask me…"
"MONOTONOUS???" Misty screamed at the top of her lungs. "WE COULD'VE BEEN KILLED!!"
"Relax! There's a cure."
"What is it?"
"Cat scratch fever."
"I beg your pardon?"
"Cat scratch fever."
"You gotta be kidding me…"
"I am."
"You are?"
"Nope."
"Oh."
"That was rather pointless…" Brock thought to himself. Then he said, "How is Ash supposed to get cat scratch fever?"
"Have a cat scratch him." Nurse Joy replied. "Simple as that."
"But there's no cat around here…" Misty said. "That's certainly going to be trouble…"
"Trouble?" asked a voice. "Prepare for trouble and trick-or-treat!"
"Make it double! Our motto's neat!"
"To protect the world from devastation!"
"To unite all peoples within our nation!"
"To denounce the evils of truth and love!"
"To extend out reach to the stars above!"
A huge explosion sent the steel panel that was covering the door flying inward. "Jessie!"
"James!"
"Team Rocket blast off at the speed of light!"
"Surrender now, or prepare to fight!"
"Meowth! That's right!"
Nurse Joy looked at Meowth. "Well, there's the cat you need."
"Say wha?" Meowth had no idea what was going on. Then, everyone heard a howl, and the Werecanine that was once Ash ran in and chased Team Rocket around the room, intending to make the bite that would transform them into Werecanines.
Nurse Joy grabbed Meowth at the back of the neck and prepared to throw him. "Hey! Wha'dya think you're doin'?" Meowth prepared a Fury Swipes attack, but Nurse Joy threw him and he Fury Swiped Ash instead.
A bright light shown from the scratch marks and the entire room was engulfed in a blinding light. Nurse Joy yawned. "Ho hum."
Then, the light faded, and Ash turned back to normal. "Hey! What happened?"
"Don't ask…" Misty replied.
