New to XY is that when you breed Pokémon, the baby inherits the mother's Poke Ball.

So, if you want to store your Pokemon in matching-color Poke Balls or just like the novelty of having a few Pokemon here and there in an unusual Ball type, this is your thread!

For example, does anyone think that the blue-and-yellow Lanturn (or a Manectric) looks awesome in a Quick Ball? Or that the blue-with-red-spots Great Ball is a perfect aesthetic match for Lucario's blue fur and red eyes?

(Note that genderless and all-male species, like Golurk and Tyrogue, can't pass down custom Poke Balls; to get those in a specific Ball type you must catch 'em in the wild.)

Here's a list of my current breeding stock. Notes:
- Only female Pokemon will be offered for trading.
- Italicized Ball type indicates a personal favorite for the species.
- FS indicates I have access to them in the Friend Safari (i.e. can catch HA upon request)

If you want the ability to nickname the baby I'm also willing to trade them still in their Egg, but I need to know that in advance because it involves a hatching run/soft reset, and you also knowingly accept the risk that I don't get any Eggs mixed up in my PC prior to trading.

Anyone else who is able/willing to breed specific species/ball combinations, just let me know and I'll expand/update the list. :) Contact the breeder (via PM or VM) to negotiate details and arrange a trade.

What would I like in exchange? Well, nothing really specific, but female Pokemon in uncommon Ball types would be great if you have them. (For example, if you have SoulSilver, I'd love to see a female Vulpix in one of Kurt's Level Balls.)

My current to-do list is as follows (updated Saturday, Mar.29):

Ready to trade
- Safari ball Electrike (Flipgbh)
- Moon ball Absol (Mayushii)
- Moon ball Shinx (Illusione-Tempus, Mayushii, Zeb)
- Safari ball Riolu (Blahmon, Tabor62)

To-do:
- Dream ball Riolu (PiccoloX83)
- Dream ball Vulpix (Zeb)

Re: Custom Poke Ball Breeding Center

While the Dream Ball doesn't really fit with Riolu I do like collecting pokemon in pokeballs not in this generation. I've obtained a Ninetails from GTS that was in a Dream Ball and bred a few female Vulpix in Dream Balls for trade if your interested. Unfortunately, the Ninetails didn't have its HA.

Re: Custom Poke Ball Breeding Center

I actually have two Riolu in a Dream Ball (one of whom has already evolved) so I'm definitely able to trade you one.

(On a sidenote, I'm temporarily out my Power item for HP. It seems that if you release a Pokemon holding an item you lose the item. That is ... not cool. Understandable, but not cool.)

Added your FC. Curious though, is the Riolu female? Doubt I'd ever breed it for a Dream Ball but would like the option.

Re: Custom Poke Ball Breeding Center

All Pokemon listed are female (most of them Safari caught for HA), as only females can pass down their Ball type. (Which also means you can't breed genderless/male Pokemon for Ball type, those have to be caught in the wild.)

Also, now that Pokebank is out I'm thinking up plans to catch rare Pokemon in Apricorn balls, like an Eevee in a Love Ball (which should be perfect for a Sylveon).

Re: Custom Poke Ball Breeding Center

Minor update: After taking Pokemon Bank out for a spin and transferring a batch of Pokemon to X,Y I can now breed for Riolu in Johto Safari Balls. (HA not available for this ball type, sorry.) I will be transferring more Pokemon in Dream Balls and will update my list as I expand what I have.

I'm also planning to catch a variety of more Pokemon using Kurt's Apricorn Balls in HG.

Re: Custom Poké Ball breeding

Thursday was productive; I caught Shinx in all seven Apricorn balls, and discovered that the family actually looks pretty cool in Moon Balls. I also caught Buizel and Bidoof in a few Apricorn balls, and Cacturne in a Safari Ball.

Re: Custom Poké Ball breeding

Could I interest you in a female Sport Ball Combee for a female Safari Ball Riolu?

Re: Custom Poké Ball breeding

Sure can, I just need to mate them first, and -- WHOA! I literally just walk outside the daycare after dropping the pair off and ALREADY an Egg? ...I have no idea where it came from either...

[Wednesday/Thursday update] Well, Wednesday wasn't very productive for the Hoenn Sound, but I did pick up:
- Absol in Love/Moon Balls
- Luxio in Safari Ball!

I need to farm more Apricorns though, because I ran out of Level Balls and I keep forgetting Absols are somewhat difficult to catch.

Re: Custom Poké Ball breeding

Sorry for such a late response, I'm still in the process of breeding something else, but if I can grab a 5 IV female I can use that as a parent again later so I don't have to retutor egg moves back on. I'll try to get the Combee to you by the end of Friday.

Re: Custom Poké Ball breeding

The first-generation females I've hatched so far are just 2IV (HP and various), which occured using a 3IV Lucario father. Somebody gave me a 5IV Chimchar on Wonder Trade, though, but it goes almost without saying that Riolu are difficult ones to breed successively (baby Pokemon + friendship evolution) and females especially so (7:1 gender ratio).

Re: Custom Poké Ball breeding

Working on the Electrikes now; just two breeding generations in I've hatched a few with 4 IVs.

Also: Assume that I will only offer female Pokemon for trading.

I'm interested in a Moon Ball Shinx and a Dream Ball Vulpix (Vulpix with its HA). Are you looking for anything specific in return?

Not really. I might still have to transport the Vulpix in, and Moon Ball is now my favorite color for the Shinx family.

So far I've been breeding mostly for stats, and not moves. But since I've been breeding mostly in the Field group so far I do have Smeargle access for the latter.

Ok well just drop me a VM whenever you're ready. I'll try and send over some interesting Pokeball females I have for your thread (Dream Ball Munna and Dream Ball Misdreavus ok?).

Moon Ball matches the Shinx line well, I agree. As does Quick and, to an extent, Ultra, too.

At the moment I still can't really breed for you (ugh, 12.5% ratios). Would you mind if I had someone clone my parent for you? It would be 31/31/31/x/31/31.

So far I've bred the Shinx and Electrike up to 5IVs. Vulpix is next.

Also, my 3IV Riolu evolved (so soon?) so now I can try for breeding them up to 5IV.

Is it possible for me to get a female HA shinx in a quick ball? I have a lot of IV bred pokemon with 4-5IVs to offer (some have HA and egg moves, i can message you a full list if you like) : vulpix, larvesta, scyther, mareep, minccino, ralts, espurr, dratini, mawile, squirtle, cottonee, and probably something else i'm forgetting. if you're looking for something specific or need something caught in a pokeball for your breeding stock, i could look those up to see what i have. thanks!
