For those in the Northeast United States, don't forget that Nintendo is having a Diamond and Pearl launch party April 22 at the Nintendo World Store in Manhattan.

The party will be 1-5 p.m. at the store, which is in Rockefeller Center.

According to Nintendo, there will be game demos, a TCG area, a movie lounge with the ninth movie, and an area for little kids. There is going to be a scavenger hunt, and there will be people in Pokémon costumes. Also they're having some give-aways: Pokémon DS Lites, Pokémon goods, and tickets to sporting events (random, yes?).

Nintendo expects more than 5,000 people to show up. Sounds like fun. They should have planned to have a distribution of a special Pokémon for this event only, though. Like a Surfing Pikachu or something with a Gen IV Pokémon.

Is anyone planning on going? Bulbanews would love to hear about your experience.

I hope many photos will be taken. I always like to see photos of events.

I was at the the pre-launch party for FR/LG back in 2004 when the store was still the Pokémon Center NY and it was actually pretty nice.

Unfortunately, I don't think I'll be able to attend this event......

I mean, I'd love to go, but I live in WV and I don't think my parents would be willing to drive me all the way to NY just for this event.

The sad part is that I'll wake up in New Jersey (which is closer to NYC than Pennsylvania is) but I have to go home to Pennsylvania that day...

Hmm. Interesting.
If I were to go there, I might just browse around... or something. I'm not much into...stuff...like this. Though it does catch my attention, I'd rather stay home and get to playing D and trying to get to the Elite Four as fast as possible... :p

I'll likely go, so if you want a report, I'd be happy to work on one.

I may go. Then again i say that about all the NY events and never go. It's only like an hour by train to get into ny, which isn't that bad, but I doubt my parents would want me to spend a day in NY alone even though they know i could. It'd be nice to go just to make sure i get the game rather than going to like best buy or some shit and them being like "it doesn't come in until wednsday."

I know no one really knows me on this forum, but I will be there definitely. I don't have a camera, but I will be there with friends who most likely will bring one so I will probably be able to provide pics. I doubt I'll be participating in any of the events there but I'll probably be battling and trading Pokemon.

Is there a Union Room in DP?

If I go, I'll be there with a sign tied to my back.

I'll also be handing out flyers.

I will be the host of this party.

Not really...

I will never be able to see any Nintendo Event. I feel I was born in wrong country ;(((( .

But you'll never be able to see EURO2012 which happens in my country. Heh heh heh. Bii-da.

I'm planning on going. And for those who can't go, there will be a live web cast of the event on pokemon.com
