And no, you can't customize your characters in DP, afaik.

Well, you can change your sprite for multiplayer battles though.. but it's of an existing trainer (in the game)

Can you select any of the pre-made sprites, or is it limited somehow? Also, is the sprite/character design used in battles against others the same as that in the underground?

The Trainer Class sprites. You know, breeder, flower lady, and what not.

I believe there is a man whom you talk to and he gives you a selection of 4 outfits which you choose from but you can come back again and again, however I'm not sure how many outfits there are overall, if there are more than the one selection.

Okay. So that's consistant with the man who you talk to in order to change apperance?

Are these four outfits always the same when you talk to the old man?

I've been compiling data on this, do you know anyone who would happen to be fairly knowledgeable on this subject - since I get a lot of "I'm not sure" responses.

This is..partially true. There is an old man, but he changes what generic trainer sprite you appear as online, nothing more.

They seriously need some character customization here, cuz that French hat thing on Lukas is... yeah... not workin for me. I might as well be a girl in the game to avoid that fugly hat.
