I think Daft Punk warrants a general thread here, I know they're popular so why not?

If you haven't already heard the teaser for Daft Punk's new album, go ahead and discover here

So let's break the ice, are you looking forward to the new album Random Access Memories?

I first took a serious interest in music when I was about 11 or 12 years old, and I've loved Daft Punk ever since. They have such a unique style and a varied repertoire to boot. Homework is a simple trance-house album to dance to and I love that, Discovery is a light-weight disco pop kind of thing and I love that, and Human After All is a more energetic and noisey album and I love that. I'm sure they'll be looked back upon as a pivotal artist of these past few decades.

It goes without saying that I'm excited for the new album. :p

I wouldn't say I'm their biggest fan, I really don't like Homework, but I LOVE Discovery, and from the snippet of sound the album is heading in that direction, dead excited for it. They blend pop, funk, disco, house and electro so, so well.

This quote's from another thread but I'll answer it here.

Excited as all hell for Daft Punk's new album in May asdfhjkhrhmfhvie ÀAAAAAAAH

Do you think it will be as good as their other albums? I haven't heard Human after all but I have high hopes.

Well, us consumers have only heard, like, thirty seconds of the album total, so I can't really judge, but it seems to me like they're going back to their poppy Discovery kind of sound, with a little more of Human After All's vibrance and energy. Hopefully it won't sound like something they've already done.

Goddamn. This is just sounding funkier and better as more is released. ATOY 2013 calling it right now.

i'm not a huge fan or anything but i have listened to their three "main" albums: Homework, Discovery, and Human After All. out of those Human After All would be my favourite.

also once i found online a track they allegedly did very early in their careers, as "Darlin'", named for the Beach Boys song XD

For me it'd personally be

Discovery
Human After All
Homework

I just don't like Homework at all, despite the fact I love music that they were influenced by. Ok, I like Around the World, but that's it.

And now the song previewed on all the Saturday Night Live ads is officially released as the first single off of the album.
