Dark Forest

Hello all. Here comes an RPG, straight from the depths of my mind.

Plot:
Hello everyone! Are you an adventurer? Explorer? Or even looking to add a little zest to your life? Well, have I got news for YOU!

There has recently been an island, discovered off the coast of Kanto, with a forest on it! Scientists and professors of every region want to map out and get a database off all th Pokemon there. Why, there could even be new ones! However, these guys can't make it out there. Their lived are just too busy. And that is why you are seeing this right now!

So, they need a team of explorers to do these jobs for them. Would you like to go down in history as the guy that got on that boat and mapped out the Dark Forest? Well, do ya?! Then show up at Professor Oak's lab in Pallet Town, in the Kanto region, and bring all your strength and skills. If you think you could pass that simple knowledge and physical ability test, then be there tommorrow! Ciao!

Many showed up at the contest, after seeing this commercial on T.V. They all tested, and many failed. Only a handful passed every round of the examination. They were picked out, and given awards and a list of instructions. Every one of them was full of glee. After all, they were all about to go down in the history books.

And they set sail the next day.

The group was by themselves in the small boat, only because one person knew how to drive one. Little did they know, the island was full of horrible secrets.

For starters, the Dark Forest was not a new discovery. It had been found many times, but no one made it out to tell their story. The island was full of demons, demons who inhabited the bodies of Pokemon such as Gastly. They would terrorize those who entered their sanctuary with terrible hallucinations. One account us when a small boy, lost at sea, had entered the forest. He thought he had seen his dead mom. When he found her again, she called the boy, cooing to him, telling him to come join her. The boy was found dead on the shores of Kanto the next day.

The demons messed with people's heads, driving them insane. The people would commit suicide or be killed, only for the demons to claim the person's soul as their own. And this is where the group was headed. Their boat wrecks, and the group is soon stuck on the island, isolated for at least three months.

Name: Lana Alnar

Age: 16

Gender: Female

Hometown: Summerland, in the Fiore region

Appearance: Lana has long, thick black hair and bright green eyes. She is lightly tanned, with an athletic build. She is somewhat muscular, to go with her height of five-foot-six. Lana wears a somewhat tight light gray tee shirt, that has a sunset on it, along with light tan canvas capris. She also wears a few woven hemp bracelets with shells on them on her right wrist. Lana wears a pair of blue and green checker board skate shoes.

Lana is never seen without her drawstring canvas bag on her back. It is wear she keeps all the valuable things she finds on explorations.

Personality: Lana comes off as very confident, and often bold. She is also very fidgety, and therefore can't sit still for long periods of time. However, she can also be very submissive at times, especially around those with higher authority. Lana is also quite smart, but has a hard time with puzzles, as she does not want to sit around and solve them. Because of this, Lana is often labeled as impatient. However, she puts most of her very athletic energy into exploring the jungle of Summerland.

History: Lana grew up in Summerland, in the Fiore region, and spent most of her time adventuring about the jungle there. Once, when Lana was nine years old, she encountered a small Evee being tormented by some tourist boys. Lana rushed over, yelled at them, and took the Evee for herself. Lana spent all her time with Evee exploring, and one day, it evolved into Leafeon. It was then that Leafeon finally fit in perfectly with Lana. The pair spent all of their time everywhere in the jungle, especially in the ruins. The two were well known by most, and were always asked to tell stories of their adventures.

One day, a boat showed up at the port, and a boy, who said his name was Toku Sumuran, got off. Little did Lana know when she ran into Toku that they would soon be best friends and partners in action. Toku's Xatu also got along well with Lana's Leafeon. The two teenagers took it upon themselves to map out every little corner and piece of the jungle in Summerland. Everyday, from sunrise until night, Lana and Toku would be exploring and mapping out the jungle. They once found a small cavern beneath the ruins, something that most did not know was there. For this, Toku and Lana's map became very famous. One day, Lana saw the commercial for the expedition team, and left with Toku. He cheered her on as she was picked for the team.

Reason for Joining: Lana thought it would be a fun adventure.

Worst Fear: Losing Toku, who means everything to Lana.

Name: Joseph and Joshua “The Clones” Antonimous

Age: 14

Gender: Male

Appearance: Joe and Josh stand tall for their age at six foot, and have a pale complexion. They have black, messy hair (though Joshes is approximately an inch longer) and bright, turquoise eyes. They have slightly longer and sharper canine teeth than average, meaning they can make them protrude slightly from their mouths and back again. They each have a scar on the side of their face (left for Joe, right for Josh) because they were born Siamese.

They usually wear black, sometimes “mixing-it-up” with blue’s, green’s and pinks. They’re never seen without a pair of fingerless gloves (style may vary). They each have a silver chain around their neck that have a small, glass vile on it which is said to contain the water from the lake of a Lugia. They wear them for good luck.

Personality: They’re very sarcastic and stubborn. They both love music, and as such, always have a large shell flute on their possession. They care for one another, and rarely trust others. They both have mild ADHD (Josh also has MDS (Mild Depression Syndrome)) which causes them to be hyperactive at inappropriate times,. Because of this, and several other *ahem* contributing factors, outsiders consider them to be insane, often referring them to people who can “help” them.

History: They were born in Snowpoint City, Sinnoh. They had a normal and happy childhood, often visiting the Snowpoint Gym (where their mother was the Gym Leader) up until they were six, when their mother died from breast cancer, leaving Candice to take over the Gym.

They never knew their father, as their mother went to a sperm bank and never married, so they moved to Pallet Town in Kanto to live with their Aunt Delia. There, at age ten, they began their journey. They travelled the four regions, competing in contests and various tag-events.

Recently, Joe and Josh have has a thirst for adventure and after seeing the commercial on TV, hurried to apply.

Their worst fear is losing each other, what little family they have.

1. Juno Roland

2. Cerulean, born and raised. Started his journey late at 16.

3. Taller and built, medium length black hair, with icy blue eyes. He's mysterious, relying more on his actions than his words to prove a point as intelligent as he is. He wears a coat over a vest that protects his chest. He's fairly handsome, but he doesn't mind much for how he looks.

4. Quiet, mysterious, and downright intimidating. He doesn't take much from anyone, and he relies on his cunning and ability to solve his problems. He's got a soft side, but good luck getting to that if you're not a beautiful girl who's willing to really hammer at his wall.

5. He was born in Cerulean, in the gleam of the lakes surrounding it. His life by any means wasn't easy, as not much came from his family in the terms of love or money. He survived on his own for a few years in a small campsite he made north of the city, foraging and living on his own. Then, one day, a Riolu wandered into his camp, and instead of attacking him or running like every other pokemon did, it sat with him. For days, he followed him around, until Juno finally confronted it. It has been with him ever since. Soon after, Juno decided to start traveling, but instead of taking on the Indigo League, he roams for work and self-testing, working on his team and ability before he sets his sights on the horizon.

6. He needed the work, and on top of it it's an opportunity to catch/train more pokemon.

7. Losing his Riolu, as it's really the only friend he has. (Hopefully he meets a few on this journey.)

8. Riolu, Vaporeon, Sneasel. He catches only the strongest pokemon he can get his hands on, so being on the road for a few months and only having three is just his choice. He could have more, but his three are more than enough to get any job done.

Name: Zaar

Gender: Male

Hometown: Ecruteak City

Appearance: Skinny as a twig, with extremely pale skin. Has blood-red eyes, with a gruesome scar down the left eyes that's covered by his raven-dark hair. Normally wears a pitch-black robe with a matching hood.

Personality: Normally, he's cold, remorseless, and considers everyone else, with no exceptions, inherently beneath him, and treats them as such. He has an extremely dark sense of humor, and can commit the most horrific of deeds, and walk away with a smirk and a chuckle. However, if his temper is flared, or when he is in the heart of battle, he grows insane, going on a psychopathic, mass-murdering rampage, howling with laughter as the blood of his foes flow around him.

History: Zaar grew up in Ecruteak City, as normal as anyone who was strangely interested in dark and sinister Pokemon could be. He was shunned by everyone, including his family, so he ran away to Saffron City at the age of 13, hearing rumors of the legendary Mew.

Once he captured Mew, a deep, booming voice spoke to him from the skies.

"I have been watching you. You may prove yourself to be a true servant of darkness. Hold that creature up to the skies, so I may show you my true power!"

Zaar obliged, and in an instant, Mew was transformed into a creature of darkness. He felt that something deep inside of him had been awakened, and formed a cult worshiping this lord of darkness. He spread his influence across the world, committing terrible deeds in the name of evil. Then, at the age of 17, his master spoke to him again.

"You have proven yourself. You are indeed worthy of true power."

Zaar fell to his knees in shock. This was not possible...no one has been given this opportunity before...

"Yes...share your power with me, so we may rule this world!" said Zaar.

"FOOL!!" his master roared.

"Power is a thing earned, not given! I still have one final test to give you.

"Survive the very thing no one has ever been able to conquer, and you will prove your loyalty."

Then, the sky shook, and a lightning bolt was cast from the air, landing directly on Zaar's left eye. He slumped to the ground, dead.

But, to everyone's astonishment, he rose again months later.

Suddenly, a dark tendril of energy burst out of Zaar's chest, and semi-solidified into a Spiritomb, black and red instead of purple and green. The ghost rushed at Zaar, but he felt new power within him, and thrust his hand out. The spirit stopped dead in its tracks, and was forced into a nearby stone by Zaar's outstretched hand.

Right afterward, Zaar heard someone rushing toward him. It was Kokirkimu, his childhood friend who had stood by his side ever since they had met.

"Zaar! You're...you're alive!" Kokirkimu said, spreading his arms in greeting.

Zaar simply stared at Kokirkimu with insane glee in his now blood-red eyes, and said this.

"I am your friend no longer."

No one knows what happened next, but doctors saw a hideous mark across Kokirkimu's chest, as if something had tried to slice him. Nearby civilians also claim that they heard psychopathic laughter and saw something fly away from the area.

Zaar continued to prove loyalty to his master in numerous ways, and one day, he was walking toward Ecruteak, and knocked on the door of the house that was once his home. Both of his parents answered, only to find their son at the door.

"Miss me?" Zaar said, and lunged at his mother and father. Detectives who investigated the scene saw slash marks across Zaar's parent's throats.

Wandering through Goldenrod City, he saw the commercial for the expedition through the window of an electronics store. Seeing the expedition as another way to prove his loyalty, he signed up.

Reason for Joining: Saw the expedition as another way to prove his loyalty, but now sees the demons of the Dark Forest as competitors to his goals of domination, and want them destroyed.

Worst Fear: Death. He absolutely does not want his life to end. He must conquer this world before death can conquer him.

Hometown: Eterna City

Looks: Chane is around, 5 feet, 1 inch tall, making her slightly smaller than the average 15 year old. She has thick, slightly wavy, red hair, which she usually pulls up into a pony tail. Her eyes are a light brown color. Chane normally wears bright colored t-shirts (mostly orange), with khaki shorts and tennis shoes. She always has a brown backpack with her, and wears goggles.

Personality: Chane is a very trusting person, and is rather eager to please her friends and family. Due to this, she is quite often taken advantage of. Regardless of that, she is very optimistic, and can be constantly telling others to "cheer up and look on the bright side of life". She is quite reckless, and thinks she is up to any challenge given.

History: Chane was born and raised in Eterna City, where both her dad worked part time at the Bicycle shop, and her mom ran a small buisness selling plants. Chane spent most of her time in the Old Chateau, where she developed an interest in Ghost Pokemon.

Chane started her journey at age 11. Chane doesn't like battling much, and became a coordinator, with out much success. She spends most of her time exploring old buildings and warehouses she finds, with help from her Pokemon. Chane was on her way to explore the abandoned ship in Hoen when she saw the commercial.

Reason For Coming: She thought it would be cool to say that she had one of the first people to explore the "new" island, and she wanted to see if there were any new Pokemon there.

Worst fear:going blind and/or deaf. Not being able to see or hear anything around her would terrify her.

Sanguezanna: His scythe, tainted red with the blood of his enemies.

Tenebrefrantoio: His warhammer, mainly used for crushing and smashing.

Scacco matto: His Model 1887, only used as a last resort.

Personality: As a world-known idol,Mystery is seen as beautiful,alluring and mysterious.She moves with confidence and grace and speaks like an angel.Many have called her a saint for remaining so composed when her fellow competitors have been severely injured or even killed.

But we all know that's bullshit.

Anya is vain,fake,evil and scheming.If all that she had done to take out the competition was revealed,she would be known as the most cold hearted killer known to man.Because she was killing to be the most beautiful person in the world.

History: Before Mystery Craze,Anya was just a normal kid who lived everyday life.She'd go to school and come home to her loving family.

One day,when Anya was crossing the street when walking home from school,she saw a blind woman on the other side of the street.The woman had a very rare-looking egg in her open basket and Anya felt a longing for the egg,seeing as she was 9 at the time and had to wait until she was 10 to get a pokemon.The lights turned green,and everyone crossed the street.In one swift and silent move,Anya swiped the egg from the lady's basket.Not one person noticed,after all,who would in the bustling streets of Jubilife?

A few days later the egg hatched into a Mime Jr. and Anya used it to win the Miss Jubilife Contest and became an 'Idol' trainer,the youngest Miss Jubilife ever and Mystery Craze.Mystery adored the thrill of winning something she didn't even earn,and craved for more.She hired an agent using the prize money from the Miss Jubilife Contest and together they skyrocketed Mystery's career from Youngest Idol Ever to Greatest Idol Ever.

Of course she didn't earn her victories honestly.She had no talent and no emotions,so she schemed her way to the top.She stole several more pokemon eggs from the day care in Solacean Town when one of her first contests toured there.But of course she still wasn't better than the others.So she took out the competition and a pattern emmerged.Each time when it came to the finals,something always happened to the other girl,all thanks to Mystery Craze and her psychic pokemon.

Little did Mystery know,she had been watched from the very beginning.Not by a fan or stalker,but a very sneaky and smart FBI agent named Vicky Hartlieb,who had began watching and following Mystery from the day she stole the egg from the blind lady.One day,Vicky had followed Mystery back to her apartment,and confronted her,showing she was from the FBI.She had said she had seen Mystery injure and even kill fellow competitors to win,she was nothing but a fake and that she was under arrest.Vicky went to put handcuffs on Mystery,but she got all of her pokemon to use hypnosis,and Vicky was out like a light.When she woke up,Mystery was gone and her apartment was empty and looked like it had been ransacked.Only a scribble of a note had been left behind.
