Notice how since the BW series started the choice of colors seems too saturated (in my opinion) the trees & sky's are too green & blue. Wouldn't a darker color theme be better? Even if the story itself isn't serious it would make the anime look more mature.

I wonder will they do that for XY or the Pokemon Origins Special.

Not really, if there is one thing I loved about Best Wishes, it was the more colorful visuals. The series looked so much better than DP thanks to that (and the new move animations as well). Judging by the XY trailers, they will keep things that way, gladly. I would also like to add that darker colors don't equal maturity.

Yes, I would like to see the anime with darker colors. The bright colors in BW make my eyes hurt, it makes the show look TOO kid-friendly.

...if the bright colors make the show look kid friendly, then they've done their job. Overall, I think the anime does well with bright, vivid colors because it matches well with the style and tone of the show. I think darker colors could be used in certain episodes, though, to great extent.

That is because the Pokémon anime IS kid-friendly. It is a kodomo anime, after all. If you want something dark, you are watching the wrong show.

I don't think I would like that and I don't think it would make the show more mature, at all. It just wouldn't fit I think. Not that I'm a big fan of the very bright colors BW has, but I'd rather have bright colors than dark colors. I'd say from what footage there is from XY, it looks just right. Bright, but not too bright, combined with good-looking animation.

Thing is, BW is TOO kid-friendly, even by Pokemon standards. (Sorry if this is going off-topic)

Okay, I've seen fans come up with some ridiculous ideas regarding how to make the anime more "mature", but this is just silly.

If I wanna see Pokémon anime with darker colors, I'll pick up one of movies. Movie 15 is really good choice since like 70% of it is colored dark.
