Darkrai movie not coming to U.S. theaters: Official Pokémon Web site corrects Cartoon Network ...

Pokemon.com's mailbag section has responded to fan speculation about the possibility of a theatrical release of the 10th Pokémon movie. The mailbag confirms that The Rise of Darkrai will be released straight to DVD some time after its Feb. 24 premiere on Cartoon Network.

If they made a REALLY good Pokemon movie, yea, that'd be dope for it to be in theaters, but the movie storylines are bad... just eww
 
Actually, in my opinion, I think all the Pokemon movies have GREAT storylines!! ^_^

I mean, if the 8th movie had been in theaters here, I bet it would've done really well (especially considering the cool CGI effects with the aura, and all the awesome BGM).
 
Yeah, but when the decision is made about whether to release in theaters, it's obvious that mainstream moviegoers are gonna see the word Pokemon and gloss over it. They might take their kids to see it if they have them, but apart from that, being Pokemon, it's not going to have people sniffin' about just to see if the CGI effects and music are gonna be brill'.
 
Sadly, the target age group is probably around 6-12 years old. That means that it's really up to the parents to take them to the movie. And a lot of parents seem to kind of... not really like Pokemon. -_-;
