*sigh* It is with heavy heart that I must write this, after being on Cloud 9 for the past 3 days. Sadly, when I got home today, I recieved a phonecall from my boss saying that they'd discovered that my name is on Nintendo's "Banned For Life" list because of some stupid crap that happened to me working for them in 1998.

Guess there's no such thing as "second chances" after all.

*pauses for a few moments to take some cleansing breaths*

I definitely have to say that that stupid policy is the lamest I've ever known of, and that it's totally unfair to anyone inexperienced and just starting out in a job (as I'd done back in 1998...). Thanks to that assanine policy, my dream of ever achieving a decent job for the company I love most in the world, has been dashed to pieces.

I've certainly learned volumes from my actions in the past, and also a lot from the past 3 days as well. But it hurts so bad for me to learn like this...

Thanks to everyone who rooted for me and who'd thought I'd gotten fantasticly lucky. Guess my luck wasn't as great as I'd hoped for. *sigh*

And I won't lie about it: I do horribly regret what happened in 1998. I mean, I was 19 years old and utterly naive - a complete dork. But now there's nothing I can do about it and I'm stuck having to live with the shame and the pain of it all. At least now that I've gotten some major motivation to work, I can use this energy to heatedly go off in search of another job. And who knows, I might get something else just a nice (or even better!).

*gives all her friends a big group hug & flashes a little smile*

Hey, at least I got to see the GameBoy Micro, cool rare posters, eat lunch at Café Mario (awesome fancy lunchroom, w/ the walls decorated by fan art), and of course that my dad still thankfully works there (and he just got promoted to the Order Processing department!). He still intends to pass along information to me, and I'll in turn pass it along to you guys...

I bet she stuck something where it didn't belong ;)

Well she was being convinced to do the same thing on her other thread. But "Banned For Life" does sound a bit harsh. And even then, you'd think they'd check these things before letting the applicant have the job!

I'm intrigued, though. What information did you leak to the World?

Aww, poor Lady Shinsei..
Come and join Sakaki in a Vigoroth group-hug...
(since I can't hug you over the web, I'm posting this screenshot as the next best thing)

Posting in anticipation to hear what happened in 1998.

Im sorry to hear that, being fired would suck, especially from a company you obviously want to work for.

And from all the stuff my dad has told me about his days at work lately,
it's beginning to look more and more to me like Nintendo sucks at doing
business and are rude jackassess towards their employees (even if they
have this big thing on "job-safety"; what about "health-safety"? Lame).

Anyway, the reason I lost my job back in 1998 was truly lame...I was
late from some breaks (got addicted to playing Nightstalkers). It hurts
so bad to discuss it with anyone, since it had been my first job and it
has been a dark cloud in my life ever since. So when I got hired last
week, I thought that my luck had changed and that my life would get
better than the shithole that it has been..... guess that I was wrong...

*looks at Nekusagi's pic* Awww...thanks. Nothing like Gio-kun to cheer
me up right now... (especially since I've been seriously depressed lately
since I got turned down for a job at an Anime store called 'Sweet Kitty').

You got banned for life for tardiness? What asshats.

She was late for work because she was playing video games. Now the company won't let her work for them because they don't want to put up with her shit AND I'm sure there's a million other people who would love to work there.

Sometimes, people need a dose of reality.

Oh, I'm not saying she deserves much pity to begin with.

Just saying YOU stating you feel no pity for her is meaningless : you have no pity, period :-p

Isn't pity something you make gyros out of?

I can see them firing you for that, but banning you for life? After all this time, that's another kettle of fish.
Why should they give her a second chance when they have a whole shitload of people willing to do the job who DON'T have a bad history with the very same company ~_~;

Sorry to say, but I agree with Mozz here. You don't expect your boss to happily accept that you always come in late because you were playing video games.

A job is a big responsability and a company like Nintendo can't allow people to be irresponsible like that.
