i mean she has a piplup that not only is out of the pokeball all the time, wont evolve, has grudges from ariados(spearow) and a stubburn mamoswine thats really strong.

I agree they have the same attitude too.

...

Well, obviously. That was apparent in the first episode when Dawn's origin was akin to Ash's.

Dawn is NOT Ash's clone. Sure they have similarities but that hardly means anything. I could list so many differences between them. Angie is so much mor of an Ash clone.

Pokefan is correct they have similarities but that hardly means anything, i can list many similarities between Angie and Ash.

Neither of them will compare to the definitive ash clone that is Ritchie.

As for the thing about attitudes...90% of all 'good' characters on Pokemon have that 'Yes! Let's go train and get stronger! Be friends with our Pokemon!' attitude. Not to mention 90% of all Shonen protagonists, at least apart from the thing about being friends with Pokemon. It doesn't make Dawn an Ash clone, just the hero of a shonen anime.

The writers did so some things with Dawn that were blatantly similar to Ash:

- Her first episode
- Mamoswine is her version of Charizard
- Piplup refuses to evolve, her starter out of its ball

And some other stuff

Ritchie how could i forget about Richie, now that a true Ash clone.

I wouldn't say "clone" persay... More like Distaff Counterpart.

In a way, May was in a similar sitiuation. It's only when she left the group and struck out on her own that she became her own accomplished character. Unfortunately, all these developments take place offscreen. The same thing might happen to Dawn once she leaves to make way for the Gen V girl... If there is one of course.

Piplup wasn't always out of its ball all the time, that didn't start happening until a while into DP. And it does return to its ball on occasion, such as before a Contest.

(Conveniently forgetting about Richie, which I've been trying to do ever since he appeared,)

Dawn is in essence different. Sure, there are similarities such as the Ariados/Spearow; Piplup becoming the second coming of the annoying starter that just won't get into a darned ball; a pokémon that obeyed in its base form but started disobeying when evolving, only to obey her in its final form when nursed back to health; conveniently forgetting that she has other Pokémon with her besides her first ... (her constant spamming of Piplup really has no point.)

However, it should be obvious that Dawn follows a different path being a co-ordinator and she appeared much less mindnumbingly dense in her first appearance.

The feeling I get is that the writers did with Dawn what they intended to do with Ash, but with success this time around.

But either way, I'm just gonna silently nod in agreement with Insomniac.

Forget that.
Richie is the true Ash clone.
The others just followed after.
I mean, you could say the same thing about May, she was too a bit.
You could say the same thing about Misty.

WHAT IS WITH ALL THESE PEOPLE THAT WEAR CLOTHES AND CAN BREATHE GOING FROM TOWN TO TOWN WITH THEIR OWN POKEMON WE'VE SEEN THAT BEFORE GET SOME CREATIVITY, WRITERS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
