When I look at the pokedex in platinum to see where a specific pokemon is availible, I have no idea what I am looking at. Sometimes routes glow blue and sometimes it glows red. I'm not even sure if that is related to day or night time avalibility. Is there a guide or a website that I can go to see the difference? I have tried searching things like "sinnoh dex legend" but nothing useful so far.

I found a thread in GameStop: here

Or, if you're lazy like me:

There are 4 types of things that can flash:
A darker blue color over an entire route/area
A small light blue square
A darker red color over an entire route/area
A small light red/pink square

The blue colored spots means the pokemon is available there by regular means, such as moving around in grass/cave/water.

The red colored spots generally mean the pokemon is found by some special means, such as honey trees, or the great marsh.

The darker colored spots that cover entire routes mean the pokemon is found in that route itself (outside).

The lighter colored squares generally indicate the pokemon being found "inside" somewhere, such as Eterna Forest, caves, the trophy garden, etc.

This could have gone in the Simple Questions Thread, but a Pokemon's availibility is different at times of day, so you change the times of day bu sliding the disc with the sun/moon on it around! That will let you view the availibility for morning, day, and night, but I'm not sure about red areas!
